Do you ever feel like the world is closing in on you simply because of stress or anxiety? If you've ever felt that way, watch out- you might have already encountered a panic or anxiety attack. A panic or anxiety attack happens when a person experiences too much stress and his or her body and mind is unable to take anymore. Many may believe mental episodes such as these are not worth paying attention to as they go away after a while. However, the truth is these illnesses can be dangerous. It is very important to know the many symptoms of anxiety or panic attacks as these can really lead to severe physical repercussion. If you don't catch it before it comes or know what to do when experiencing it, you could end up having a far more serious illness. Words cannot express how important it is to know the symptoms of anxiety or panic attacks.

As mentioned above, anxiety and panic attacks can actually lead to worse condition if left untreated. There are two major things that could happen to a person if he or she neglects treatment for his or her attacks. The first is a nervous breakdown and the second is a heart attack. Because anxiety and panic attacks pose such a threat to people's health, treating it is very important. But one would not be able to treat a person having an attack if one doesn't know the symptoms of anxiety or panic attacks. To know what the symptoms of anxiety or panic attacks are, it is best to find out what one feels in such an episode. A panic attack is a state of intense and extreme fear. When a person experiences a panic attack, the heart starts to race. This is the reason why panic attacks trigger heart attacks; because it makes the heart rate go up. This is particularly dangerous for people with hypertension or for those who already have a history of heart conditions. Another symptom is shortness of breath. This also poses a big danger because when one is unable to supply enough oxygen to the body he or she can pass out, or worse, do damage to the brain. Other symptoms include nausea and excessive sweating.

The chances of a person realizing his or her first panic attack is small. This is because they are uninformed about the symptoms of anxiety or panic attacks. For that reason, people take such attacks lightly. Make sure to educate yourself on anxiety and panic attacks. If you can, educate other people as well. Panic and anxiety attacks may seem minor, but they can really do long term damage if left untreated. Be informed and be responsible; make sure you and the people around you know about this disorder. Stress is all around these days. It is something that is truly inevitable. It wouldn't do you any harm to educate yourself. It is always best to be prepared.
