When talking about losing weight there are many theories and concept involved as to how to lose weight but none of them truly explain how you gained that weight in the first place. Well, I have my own theory, it has been working for me my whole life and it's really simple once you understand the simple concept behind it. Oftentimes, when we try to lose weight and keep it off, our bodies resist such attempts because calories and fat to it are like money and bank accounts to us. You want something in this world; you have to pay for it. You want to live? Then you have to consume calories and fat. Yes, that's right I said fat. Your body needs calories - cash - in order to generate new muscle cells, bone cells, etc... (It also needs the raw materials to build them, such as protein, vitamins, minerals, and so forth.) Just like you need money - or calories, by our analogy - to get a new car, new house, and whatever else you might desire. When we lose weight, we are not only burning calories in excess of what we take in, but we are also dipping into our fat stores, which is the body's bank account for calories, where all those extra calories go (which is what got you fat in the first place). It's important to realize this because the reason why many of us feel so extraordinarily hungry when we are losing weight is because our bodies are alarmed that its bank account of stored calories, otherwise known as fat, is being emptied out! It's screaming for a cash infusion, so to speak, and its language is hunger and more literally the growling noises from your stomach. Our bodies are literally resisting our attempts to remake ourselves because we human beings are, for the most part, programmed to eat to excess. Due to millions of years of evolution, we have developed a penchant for sweets and fats and the high-calorie foods that contain them. Now thanks to modern civilization, such foods are easily available, without us having to hunt and expend much energy to acquire them. Our bodies simply have not yet adapted to the environment of abundance. It was honed over millions of years to excel in an environment of scarcity; it can't change overnight just because human society has, so quickly and drastically. So if you really want to lose weight you have to work for it just like you do to make money. The idea is to find a balance between eating and staying active, similar to working and living your life - you need to have balance in order to stay at your best and healthiest.
