The Law of Attraction or The Power of our Mind?

Who cares - following some simple rules works!

There are a few simple rules to follow to encourage success at achieving goals, you may know these 'rules' as the Law of Attraction or you may not not believe in the Law of Attraction, but all successful people around the world follow these rules in one form or another, even if they would claim that they don't believe in the Law of Attraction.

I personally believe that it is the power of the mind that causes the 'Law of Attraction' to work, either in your favour if you are thinking positively, or against you if you are thinking negatively. Like attracts like.

But one thing is for sure - it works whether you believe or not, so it's important to ensure that you are taking advantage of this knowledge and keeping your thoughts positive. If you follow these few simple rules you will see massive changes in your life and your goal success rate, some of them will happen straight away and others will happen over time.

Here is a simple guide to getting the Law of Attraction to work in your favour;

Write down your goals. This serves 3 purposes in the context of these success rules

* It helps us to 'get specific' and to focus on the goals

* It helps to create the commitment to the goals

* It helps to programme our subconscious mind with the goals that we are aiming to achieve.

Plan to succeed. If you've ever heard the saying 'fail to plan and you plan to fail' you will understand why this step is so important.

Following on from writing down your goals, it's important that you write them down in a certain way to ensure the most success;

* The goals should be very specific (ie not 'more money' but an actual figure that you want to earn and the more specific the better; believe it or not '£101,500' is more realistic to your subconscious than '£100k'!).

* The goals should have an actual 'achieve by' date (ie not just 'in 6 months' but a calendar date for example 'by 6th June 2010').

* The goals should be realistic - this doesn't mean you have to think small! It just means that you need to be realistic within your time frame and your resources. There is a positive benefit of thinking big ('aim for the moon and you may catch a star'), but you must have a realistic plan of action to back it up or it will backfire - you will get overwhelmed and give up.

Decide & Commit to your goal. Make the definite decision that you want to achieve your goal. Whatever the goal is, deciding that you ARE going to achieve it is the first important step. Saying that you are going to 'try' or 'do your best' isn't good enough. You have to say that you will achieve your goal no matter what. Following on from deciding - commitment to your goal means that you are prepared to make the sacrifices or changes needed to achieve it. There is no point in deciding to do something if you are not prepared to commit, the two go hand in hand.

Believe. Everybody has to have faith in something and I ask you now, regardless of your religious beliefs - you MUST at least believe in yourself and in this simple process. Have faith that it will work and it will. Your faith will also help to raise your energy vibration to a more positive one.

Be grateful. I know this is a going to be a difficult one for some people, especially if you are in debt and need more money or if you are suffering from ill health - how can you feel grateful? The simple answer is; you can't!

The trick to 'being grateful', which is vitally important if you want to achieve a positive mindset and attract positive things into your life, is to be grateful and content with the things in your life that you have NOW.

This could be as simple as being grateful for a sunny day, or a new flower that has appeared in your garden. Or the more important things like being grateful for the roof over your head or your beautiful family or best friends.

Being grateful for the things in your life will totally change your energy vibration. Have you ever known someone who is constantly negative? If so, you will know exactly what I am talking about when I stress the importance of being positive and grateful.

It's all too easy to concentrate on the one thing that isn't great, but the problem with this mindset is that you then start to notice OTHER things that aren't great. Remember; like attracts like so this negativity can spiral of out control until everything seems bad!

Make your thoughts positive ones and things will soon start to feel more positive.

Start putting this process into action today. Start writing down your goals, as I've described, and be as specific as possible. Once you have finalised your specific goals - you can then decide if you are truly ready to commit to them.
