By : Erik Parsons

Candida overgrowth is also known as Candidiasis, candidosis, moniliasis and oidimysis. It is a fungal infection that can cause serious health issues if left untreated.

Normally the immune system enables the growth of Candida in a healthy and controlled proportion. High intake of sugar and carbohydrates of the body however is one of the reasons why Candida begins to grow inside the intestine at a faster rate. As a result, the good bacteria inside the intestine can become obstructed and in some cases destroyed. This allows the yeast in our body to overgrow.

When we talk about Candida overgrowth symptoms, it includes gastrointestinal disorders like bloating, stomach cramps, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and kidney and bladder infections. Some other symptoms include heart burn, belching, and hemorrhoids. When suffering from a yeast infection one can experience extreme fatigue accompanied by dizziness, headaches or migraines. It can also cause moodiness and irritability.

In some cases a person might experience bad breath, sores, nasal itching, nasal congestion, sinusitis, asthma, bronchitis, sore throats, sensitivity to perfume, chemicals and smoke.

When it comes to medical reports, the majority of cancer fatalities were later diagnosed with candidiasis. Overgrowth of yeast in the body has been proven harmful to our health. Yeast infections can be avoided if we are smart about what we put into our body.

Here are 6 tips on how to prevent a yeast infection:

1. Learn to limit sugar or sweet intake. The higher the sugar intake, the more likely you will incur candida overgrowth.

2. Oral hygiene is a must. Always maintain the habit of brushing your teeth after meals. If you have antiseptic mouthwash at home, better make use of it.

3. Avoid alcoholic beverages.

4. Integrate garlic in your diet. Any kind of spice like garlic is a natural fungus killer.

5. Keep your skin dry and clean. Take time to change your sweaty clothes and dry yourself after bathing. The growth of Candida yeast is triggered in heat and moisture.

6. Include yogurt or milk in your diet. It is effective because it contains a lactic bacterium that helps to fight against bad bacteria.

Candida overgrowth symptoms often go unnoticed until there is a significant problem. Therefore, we should follow a healthy diet and maintain proper hygiene.

It is often said that the healthier one lives the happier one is. I believe this to be an accurate statement and I implore you to start following a yeast free diet today!
