A Few Great Uses For Vinegar

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=92
By : Ben Mester

In my study of the health and home benefits of hydrogen peroxide, I kept stumbling upon the health and home uses for vinegar as well. A little known fact is that vinegar, either white and apple cider, when sprayed on a surface along with hydrogen peroxide, is as good a disinfectant for killing germs and bacteria as any of the leading chemical sprays. It's both clean and safe, as well as very cheap. But don't mix the vinegar and hydrogen peroxide together. They need to be sprayed separately onto a surface so that they can react when combined.

In my study of the uses for vinegar, I found that vinegar had both amazing medical health benefits, and also home cleaning benefits. That struck me as odd because I had discovered the same exact idea when doing some research into hydrogen peroxide, that it also had some great health benefits, on top of its cleaning and disinfecting properties. I'm beginning to suspect that a trend is forming. Isn't it pretty incredible that you can buy a cheap chemical like apple cider vinegar, and while you're using it to disinfect your home and clean your windows, you can also drink a tablespoon of it to boost your vitality and make your body healthier. It's amazing.

Here are some specific uses for vinegar along with some other safe chemicals:

1. Disinfectant. Like I mentioned above, vinegar, when sprayed on a surface along with grocery store 3% strength hydrogen peroxide, will disinfect amazingly well. Hydrogen peroxide is a very reactive, though safe acid. When sprayed onto any surface, it starts disinfecting and killing dangerous germs. Vinegar sprayed on a surface either directly before or after hydrogen peroxide is sprayed will augment and enhance the disinfecting abilities and kill everything harmful on the surface. This gives it the perfect application for the kitchen because neither chemical is harmful to humans. In fact, quite the opposite. Both are actually beneficial to humans. Use this spray combination on things like cutting boards, pieces of fruit, tiles, and anything you want cleaned and disinfected.

2. Window Cleaner. Quite awhile ago I was hired to clean the windows of a very large building. Rather than purchasing the regular expensive window cleaning products, I was shown a formula for making my own very effective window and glass cleaner. The only thing I had to do was to mix up one cup of white vinegar and one cup of ammonia per gallon of water, and that was it. Ammonia is somewhat more unfriendly than standard white vinegar, but it's still not considered a harmful or dangerous chemical. It gives off a very powerful odor that can give you a headache in a hurry, so be careful. It is a very common household chemical as most know, very cheap to buy in bulk, and very effective.

3. Healthy Drink. As I said before, apple cider vinegar is very healthy for you as a drink. You can actually drink it right from the bottle, which is how I do it, but most people like to mix it up in some water with honey. That makes it easier to swallow. Apple cider vinegar has been used for thousands of years as a health supplement. Its main benefits are increased energy and boosting the health of the skin. It can also be used topically on the skin with equal parts of distilled water to tone the skin.
