The NFL Needs An Equipment Leasing Company To Help Protect Its Players

The biggest issue in the National Football League right now isn't about whose quarterback is the greatest, whose defense is the toughest, or whose running back runs the fastest. And no, the biggest issue isn't the soon-to-be-expiring Collective Bargaining Agreement, either. The biggest and most troubling issue in the NFL currently is the League's medical staff handling of players with injuries... specifically, concussions.

More and more data has come out recently linking football-related brain injuries to problems later in life. And every story that gets out about a former NFL star living in a trailer without the ability to take care of himself is just another black-eye for a League that has blatantly ignored the injuries of its retired players in the past.

The first step the NFL has taken to fix this problem has been taking and enforcing more precautions with players suffering from concussions this season. This was on display in Week 2, when Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten angrily threw a fit on the sideline when medical personnel refused to let him re-enter the game.

But there is another, simpler way that NFL medical staff could easily improve their ability and quickness in diagnosing injuries suffered during games.

Take out a working capital loan, and get all the medical staff iPads.

Ok, maybe not iPads, but trust us, this working capital loan idea is a good one. Get all the staff some sort of easy-to-carry viewing device that they could carry onto the field with them. Let us explain why:

In Week One, Philadelphia Eagles middle linebacker Stewart Bradley suffered a concussion making a tackle. As he tried to get up off the ground, Bradley stumbled like a drunken frat-boy and fell flat on his face. Anyone and everyone who witnessed Bradley's stumble knew he must have suffered a concussion; you didn't need a medical degree to diagnose that one.

And yet, there Bradley was, just a few short plays later, back on the field. How could this be? The NFL, which swore it was going to do more to protect its players, letting a clearly concussed player back on the field?

It wasn't until after the game that the truth was revealed: when Bradley made his head-first swan-dive into the Earth, he was facing the opponent's sideline. His team's medical personnel didn't see how Bradley was injured, nor did they see how he stumbled trying to get up.

The League swore after the game that had staff seen the injury occur, Bradley undoubtedly wouldn't have been allowed back in the game. So what's the easiest solution? Get the medical staff something so that simultaneous to them tending to the player, they could watch a replay of how the injury occurred.

If the NFL is worried about money, then do as we recommended and take out a working capital loan. We're sure they have good credit. After all, it's a multi-billion-dollar business. And find a good equipment leasing company and get your medical staff the equipment they need to properly protect their players.
