Kent is authentically English with its beautiful gardens, old mansion buildings, and ancient artefacts. It is no wonder that some of the most charming hotels reside there. Here are 6 worth visiting.

1.Chilston Park Hotel

This luxury hotel in the heart of the Garden of England, was once home to politicians, writers, Lords and Viscounts. Each of the 53 bedrooms has its own majestic touch, from four-post beds to original fireplaces. There are 22 acres of rural parkland surrounded by artefacts dating back to the seventeenth century. The delicious hotel restaurant serves food that is grown and prepared locally.

2.Ebury Hotel Canterbury

This prestigious, family-run hotel grew out of the County Hotel in Canterbury, which was built during the Great Depression when every other hotel in the region was closed. It hosts eighty-five bedrooms and an indoor swimming pool and is surrounded by breath-taking gardens. A real family gem.

3.Hotel du Vin

Built in 1762 as a private residence, Hotel du Vin is now a part of a range of luxury and boutique hotels around the UK. It possesses a style which is characteristically British and is the perfect destination for romantic getaways and spa weekends. It also has a garden terrace with views of Calverley Park.

4.The Royal Albion Hotel

The Royal Albion offers the best of both worlds- the conveniences of being located in the centre of town together with the view and tranquillity only the seaside can offer. Built in 1760, this hotel was once frequented by Charles Dickens, who found its landscape and feel to be inspiring. The gardens back onto a walkway, which lead directly to nice, sandy beaches.

5.Bridgewood Manor

Although it is a big hotel, the Bridgewood Manor aims to make their guests feel at home. And how could they not with the pampering the hotel offers- from saunas, to gyms, to algae wraps. If you go for work there are conference rooms you can use. If you go for fun there is a vast range of activities surrounding the property including galleries, museums, castles, and an ancient cathedral.

6.The Spa Hotel- Royal Tunbridge Wells

This chic eighteenth century mansion spans fourteen acres along the edge of Royal Tunbridge Wells. There are seventy rooms as well as a spa which includes a gym, sauna, steam and pool. Luxurious beauty treatments and therapies are also available. The Chandalier restaurant and Zagatos bar are open to non-guests and are the perfect setting for a night out.
