An Afternoon in London

There's nothing quite like waking up on a Saturday morning in London and having the whole day ahead of you. After a week in the office, you are finally free to roam the city streets and poke around the places and things that interest you. Here are a few ways to spend the day.

Itinerary one:

Meet your friends for a delicious brunch at South Kensington's Aubaine. Decompress from your busy week with a latte, omelette, and mouth-watering pastry. Be sure to reserve, as they get really busy on the weekends. Once you've gotten the nourishment and energy you need to start your day, take a walk over to the Victoria and Albert museum to check out one of their expos. They always put on a good show but if nothing strikes your fancy, their permanent collection never fails to impress. High tea at LaDuree in Harrods is your next stop. Their famous pastel green walls invite you in for a real French experience. It is criminal to go there without having at least one macarron.

Itinerary two:

Make a picnic and set yourself up in Hyde park for the afternoon. It's a great place to unwind and people watch. If you get bored of sitting around then hop on a bicycle or, better yet, a horse and treat yourself to a little spin. If you're in the mood for some high street shopping head down to Oxford street to get the London look. When the sun starts to set head over to Covent Garden and find a table on the cobblestone where you can enjoy some thin-crust pizza and wine. A few glasses in and you should be well in the mood to dance. Soho is a great place to bar hop, or try Cuckkoo Club in Mayfair for a wild time.

Itinerary three:

For those adventurous people who've seen enough of London from the ground, go for a hot air balloon ride and experience the city from above. The views are spectacular. At night, head east for some funk and soul. Pizza East is a great new restaurant at the bottom of the Tea building. It offers yummy appetizers and a nice vibe for a reasonable price. If you've got the "in", Shoreditch House is an awesome place to go for drinks. Otherwise, Hoxton Square has all the night life you could want. Once you've hit up a few clubs there, make your way over to Camden to party the rest of the night away.

There are so many ways to spend your days and nights in London. Regardless of your interests, budget, or time, this city has something to cool to offer.
