If you have even had an insurance claim, getting it resolved to your satisfaction can be frustrating and time consuming. You deserve fair and quick claims settlement. Take some steps to make sure your insurance company is treating you fairly. I present three steps to take here. I believe I presented the easiest and quickest solution first, and then lead up to a more complicated solution you could consider as a last resort. The first thing you should do is call your insurance company. Make sure you understand exactly how they came to the decision that you disagree with. You also need to mae sure that the company understand why you are complaining. This can help you in a couple of ways. There could have been an error. This is more common than you think it is! Sometimes a simple phone call will get a representative to take a second look at your claim so it can get resolved in the fastest way possible. They could simply have to correct a coding error in their forms. If there is no error, but the way the claim was settled came down to an insurance adjuster decision, you may get them to be a bit more generous. A polite phone call, explaining the situation, can get an adjuster to modify the settlement. If you understand the issue, but cannot get your insurer to help you, it may be time to get help from a third party. You should get some help from your own local insurance department. Every US state has an insurance department, and the reason they exist is to enforce insurance laws and protect consumers. You should be able to find contact information by searching on the web for your state's insurance department. Your state repreentative will probably interview you on the phone, and then they may ask you to send a letter with more information. These state insurance organizations are eager to hep comumers with complaints. They may or may not be able to help you, but they will look into your problem. Have you tried calling your insurer and state insurance department, and you still have not gotten your issue settled? You may need to take the final step of finding an insurance lawyer. Some lawyers will give you a free consultation. An experienced lawyer should be familiar with cases that are very similar to yours. They can help you understand your options. Lawyers are expensive, but many will work on a contigency basis. In some cases, a lawyer will agree to get paid only if they win. Challenging an insurer in court is going to take time, and that is why I suggest it as a last resort. If you do speak to a qualified lawyer, and they they advise you to go forward with a case, this can be one way to get your issue resolved. You pay money for your premiums every month. When you have a claim, you have a right to get it settled in a fair and swift manner. I hope that these tips can help you resolve any issues you may have had with an insurer.
