Paying for the house itself is not the end all and be all of a home buying transaction. Do not make a decision based on the pictures that you see online. Make an ocular inspection to make sure that the house is in good order and all the utilities are working. If you finally see a house that you think is perfect for you and your family, talk to the owner to see if you can haggle on the price. Your realtor can do that for you if you ask. When a price is agreed, it is best to thresh out the necessary paperwork right away so as not to waste time.
