A survey of 33,425 people has shown that Inverness is the UK's most popular relocation destination for the first quarter of 2010. Trends show that the economic situation has given rise to a migration style of those looking to escape the rat-race from places such as London and the surrounding areas. Inverness claims the top spot in this survey it is believed primarily due to its wealth of hi-tech industries as well as transport connections.

Other popular spots which have become more affordable since the property crash are Bournemouth, Torquay, Ipswich and Norwich. The survey has shown that people consider the early stages of recovery as the perfect time to invest in more desirable towns that had previously been unaffordable. During this period the average removal distance has been 70 miles.

Inverness is regularly placed amongst the top five most desirable places to live in the UK and is regarded as one of the fastest growing modern digital economies in Europe. It is capital of the Highlands and home to about a third of the Highlands residents, who live either in or around the city.

The river Ness flows through the centre of the city which also boasts elegant bridges and Victorian architecture. Located in the Highlands where the people are renowned for their friendliness, the landscapes are breath taking; the great outdoors beckons to nature lovers and sports enthusiasts alike.

Inverness is the least polluted city in the UK yet can offer one of the lowest rates of unemployment in the whole of Great Britain. With school results significantly better than the national average and a growth economy, Inverness appeals to those who enjoy life yet have strong work ethic. The city and the Highlands in general have attracted many skilled professionals from around the world. 90% of the technology workforce earns more than the average national wage.

Within easy reach from Inverness you can find over 40 golf courses, ski resorts as well as top class stalking, fishing and climbing. Inverness is a one of those rare finds which marries together a dynamic economy alongside natural beauty. Here you can find an excellent quality of life while earning above the national average if you are in the right job. The crime rates are amongst the very lowest in Great Britain.

It is a place where you can have a healthy lifestyle as well as plenty of entertainment and culture. Not to mention the fact that you can go to visit Nessie, the Loch Ness monster on your time off work!
