Cheaper Prices for Used Luxury Vehicles

Across the border they have finally posted a small increase in retail sales, oddly enough, in the auto industry, as consumers seem to be reaching out for more practical items than department store trends. According to the Commerce Department, car dealerships in the United States have reported 0.4 per cent increase in sales for the month of July.

Many consumers are also opting for used vehicles instead of brand-new custom ordered or new, off the lot. For many reasons, this makes a lot more sense in today's economy, so buying used is a great option. If you are looking for a luxury vehicle at reduced prices, here is a list of the best used, current trending luxury vehicles and what you can expect to pay for them.

Looking for speed more than practicality, the 2003 Porsche 911 Targa is a great deal if you can find it used. When produced, this car's selling price started at $110,000 but can be purchased now for around $40,000.

The mid-size 2004 Mercedes-Benz CLK Cabriolet made this convertible V8 a stunning drive. Starting at $85,000 when produced, they can now be picked up for about $30,000.

Another beautiful luxury option to buy used is the 2005 Jaguar S-Type R with its V8, 390 horsepower engine. New, they were selling for $85,000 but can be bought used at a bargain for $22,000.

If you're looking for more of an SUV type, the 2006 Land Rover Range Rover should do the trick with a used price tag of only $37,000, down from the $94,000+ new.

How about the 2004 Audi S4? This V8, compact and well-powered all-wheel drive sedan is able to perform to 100 km/h in less than six seconds. For $25,000, it's a great deal compared to the $70,000+ when it was new.

Or how about the always-in-style Audi TT 3.2 DSG Cabrio? With a new 2004 sticker price of $65,000, it can be picked up for a mere $25,000.

The 2006 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 is a great option when you're looking for less practicality and more fun. The engine is a complete Mercedes SLK32 AMG, V6 engine. New, it was $62,500 but it can be had for a cool $22,000 today.

Cadillac XLR did well with their 2004 model with its folding hardtop and great style. Being sold for a large ticket price of $110,000, picking up a used one now for $35,000 is a steal of a deal.

Another gem is the 2005 Volkswagen Phaeton V8, which was, upon production, said to be the more advanced luxury auto. Due to its lack of popularity, the new asking price of $100,000 has been decreased to about the $20,000 mark used.

If you're looking for a car that has luxury, style and is a little newer, the 2007 Lexus LS may do the trick. Considered one of the most reliable luxuries ever made, the new tag of $85,000+ has come down to $45,000.
