How to Shine at Credit Repair

The Last Twenty Percent

It would not be hard to make a case for the postulate that the last twenty percent of the results you will get from your credit repair effort are worth more than the entire eighty percent that came first. You cannot afford to stop short or to quit before you put the final shine on the process. Here are some thoughts about the subtle factors that can make a not-so-subtle impact.

Do Not Prejudge

Leave nothing on the table. When you examine your credit reports at the outset of the credit repair process do not skip over the little items that you think are insignificant. Two points; sometimes these innocuous looking issues can wreck your scores, and second, they all add up! Dispute everything that looks wrong. Do not prejudge the small stuff.

Get Time on Your Side

Start your credit repair rebuilding program now. If you are like many people, you are planning to rebuild your credit when your report is all clean and nice again, maybe six months from now. This is a tactical error. New credit takes time to mature and to yield the credit score benefit. Now is the time to take action. And if you think your applications will be denied, just get secured credit cards.

Apply For Secured Cards

Secured credit cards are wonderful. True, they are a bit more expensive, but the gigantic payback far outweighs the miniscule extra expense. Two is the right number to get for the rebuilding phase of your credit repair. Apply today. You will not get turned down. The better secured cards will report to all three bureaus and will not be notated as secured. Two cards can be worth one hundred points in six months. Take the plunge.

Do Not Take No For an Answer

Once you begin sending dispute letters to the credit bureaus you may find that a percentage of your requests are met with rejection. Do not accept no for an answer. The credit bureaus are big machines, and as it often happens, dispute letters are not managed with the attention you would hope for. You must be vigilant. Stay on the case and resend your disputes. Ramp up the language as appropriate, but do not give up.

The Power of Savings

Build a budgetary plan to insure your hard earned credit repair results. A savings account will protect your new and improved credit report by providing a buffer against the unforeseen. And having some money in the bank feels great! Empower yourself and your future by setting aside a little bit of each paycheck for savings. You will be amazed at the difference it can make.

Reach for a Helping Hand

Think about hiring a reputable credit repair service to go through your credit report with a fine tooth comb. Everyone is different and you may have a number of completely unique opportunities to crank up your scores. Given the value of every point on your score, it is definitely worth digging deep to find the potential. Professional services will also manage the dispute process and follow up to insure that you get every bit of the benefit available.
