Article Marketing Strategy: 5 Extra Uses For Your Articles

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=94
By : Steve Shaw

Do you just submit articles and then forget about them? Is each article a one-off for you, where its only purpose is to be used as a free reprint article?

We know that the most efficient use of many items in the real world is to recycle them. Have you ever considered that you can recycle your articles to serve multiple purposes?

If not, then this article will be an eye-opener for you. Here are 5 extra uses for your articles that will help your articles do double duty (or more!).

1 - Blog posts (re-written).

In my own article marketing strategy, I start by writing posts for my blog for the month. Then, I take those blog posts and rewrite them to submit as articles.

If you're going to do this, be sure to publish the content on your own site first, then re-write the post into an article so that the content on your own site remains unique. For SEO purposes, it is best if the content on your website cannot be found elsewhere.

2 - Podcast.

After an article is published, it becomes a podcast. I don't turn every article into a podcast episode--I just choose 4 or 5 articles a month to do this with.

3 - Video.

The next thing I do is use the article and the podcast to create a video of the article. Then I upload the videos to YouTube.

4 - E-book.

When I feel the need, I create e-books out of my articles focused on a specific topic in my niche.

Let's say I notice that local business owners are really in need of some article marketing coaching. I gather my articles about local business article marketing, and I assemble them into an e-book.

Some tweaking is necessary to make the book flow from chapter to chapter, and I usually have to add an introduction and a conclusion to the book, as well as fleshing out some areas that need more in depth explanation. The e-book pretty much writes itself, though, because I re-use the content from my articles.

5- Squidoo lens.

If you haven't used Squidoo, I encourage you to play around with it. Pages on Squidoo have an easier time of ranking highly in search engines, so it can be a worthwhile investment to create a quality web page there.

The web pages on Squidoo are called 'lenses'. Don't let that confuse you--it's just a web page. Organize your articles by topic, and then create one or more lenses based off of the articles.

It's rather fun because you can add pictures, and there are tools that let you create surveys for your readers. I created a lens like this, and it very quickly got a decent search engine ranking of its own and a decent PageRank. I didn't even really market the lens--I just shared it with my list and things took off from there. A little work for a big return.

These are the ways that I reuse/recycle my articles. Don't feel like you need to do all of these extra things right away or ever--just pick out one to focus on. You will experience an immense feeling of satisfaction to see your hard work being reused in more than one format.

Which of these ideas appeals to you? This week, when will you set aside some time to get started?
