The announcement of a marriage engagement is almost always good news. Of course one of the best parts is learning how it happened. Here are some great engagement stories. 1. In a tree A couple of outdoor adventurers were visiting Tuscany for a romantic weekend. One day on a walk through a beautiful meadow, they came across a lovely tree. “Let’s climb it,” said the woman. She athletically climbed her way to the top and waited on a branch while her boyfriend struggled to make it up. He finally did, and there sitting on a branch he asked her to be his forever. 2. Without really asking He had it all planned. They would fly to Paris and he would ask her while riding the carousel in the park outside of the Louvre. He was asleep on the airplane when she decided she wanted some gum. She carefully leaned over and reached into his pocket only to feel a chunky velvet box. She wanted to pretend it never happened but he opened his eyes when he felt her on him. Flushed, nervous and caught off guard he was unable to utter the words. “Yes” she said and kissed him on the mouth. 3. In a hot air balloon He was a man with no fears, other then heights of course. When reading up on hot air ballooning, a young woman decided it might be a safe way to help conquer her boyfriend’s phobia and so booked them a flight. It wasn’t until twenty minutes in that he decided to stand up from his crouching position and actually look at the world above and beneath him. He was so mesmerized by its beauty that he hadn’t noticed his girlfriend getting down on one knee. 4. While she’s sleeping They had been together for many years and he wanted her to be his forever. He was planning to ask her to marry him when they returned from a New Year’s Eve party but all she had planned was to get into bed. She was already in her pyjamas and half asleep when he woke her up and forced her to come with him for a walk. Without understanding why it couldn’t wait she refused and refused. Finally she got up and her whole life changed. Everyone has a unique story to tell. Choosing a place to ask someone to marry you is as important as choosing the ring. It should be a symbolic place that reflects you both in some way.
