Morning Sickness

Also known as pregnancy sickness, morning sickness is a condition that affects a lot of pregnant women all over the world. Statistics even show that half of the pregnant women population experience morning sickness foe the first three months of their pregnancy. This condition is characterized by nausea and vomiting, which usually takes place during morning. This does not indicate any problem with the child you are carrying but is even considered as a good sign. The causes of morning sickness cannot be fully determined as each pregnancy differs from the other. However, there are several possible treatments for your condition.

Avoid the Things that Make You Ill

Whether it's a type of food or your husband's perfume, once you take a whiff of something that just does not appeal to your senses, you're most likely to vomit. A pregnant woman's sense of smell is stronger than normal which makes it very difficult for you to ignore any pungent smell. The best you can do is to avoid anything that makes you vomit, when you can.

Get Enough Rest

During pregnancy, your body goes through a lot of changes. This in turn makes you feel weak and exhausted even when you are not doing anything at all. When you are tired, your body cannot function well and can even make you nauseous at times. Take naps during the day and get enough sleep during the night. Don't work too much especially when you are in your last trimester. Rest while you can. You won't be having as much time with yourself when your baby arrives, anyway.

Eat What You Want

Have you been craving for chocolate mint ice cream lately? Then by all means, eat one. Pregnant women always have cravings of some sort. Sometimes, you can even be craving for something that's out-of-this-world. Trust your cravings and eat whatever you want just as long as you meet the daily nutritional requirements for you and your baby.

Keep Rehydrated

Pregnant women can get dehydrated fast and once you do, you'll most likely feel like vomiting. Drink lots of fluids during the day. Drink in between meals and not only during meals. Drink water and fruit juices to replace the water that you've lost after vomiting. This will also keep your skin moisturized as hormonal changes during pregnancy also cause your skin to dry up.
