Many people have the impression that spiritual people should live in poverty, and that wealthy people couldn't possibly be spiritual. This is probably because of ideas that have been imprinted in our minds since childhood. Quotes like" Who do you think I am, Rockefeller?" and "money is the root of all evil" leave a deep rooted impression in our minds. Why should a spiritual person have to be poor and a rich person be lacking in spirituality? Surely attracting and creating Abundance means having enough of everything that creates happiness in one's life, both spiritual and material.
Most Eminent Eastern Gurus and Western Philosophers propagate the theory that all physical circumstances and manifestations are created by the mind. That will say that everything that exists is the result of thought and desire. What we think of the most, is what we bring into our reality. Good and bad. In the physical material world, every action has an equal and opposite reaction, but in the quantum world, it seems that thought creates a “like” reaction; Positive attracting Positive and Negative attracting Negative. This is a universal law of nature and its just as real and powerful as the law of Gravity. In the East it has been known for centuries as the law of Karma and more recently in the west as The Law of Attraction. We are in fact like a magnet, attracting to us whatever is foremost in our minds.
The ramifications of this are enormous. It means we all have the power to control our lives through focused positive thinking, which creates positive action, that in turn manifests desired results into our physical reality.
Many people upon reading this will remark that it’s impossible to constantly monitor our thoughts during our busy daily lives and of course this is true. Fortunately we don’t have to. Most of our thousand upon thousand daily thoughts are not dwelled upon and just come and go, canceling themselves out. Thoughts that are dwelled upon, such as a worry about a debt, which constantly nags at you all day and even in your sleep, will undoubtedly attract negative circumstances into your life. Worrying about “lack of money” will only attract more”lack of money”. ( Remember “like” attracts “like”).
Put simply, to make the law of attraction work for you, it is imperative that you feel positive and think positively. Approach all your problems from a positive standpoint. For example, instead of constantly thinking “I don’t have enough money and I can’t see how I am ever going to get out of debt”, one should think (and believe) “My money problems are behind me, I have an abundance of riches that are on their way to me and my financial problems are over”.
I’m sure a lot of you will consider what you have just read to be naive and foolish. Believe me, what would be foolish is to carry on worrying and attract even more worry and problems into your life. Only positive thoughts and emotions can bring positive reactions . Its all just a mind game. Once you start seeing things from a more positive perspective, you will be amazed how your life will change for the better. If we are to live a happy, healthy and abundant life, then a radical change in the way we think and act is an absolute necessity.
It’s not as simple as wishing for something and then the following morning it arrives on your doorstep. After reading the book or watching the film “The Secret ” many people believed that it was as easy as just wishing for something and like magic, it comes to you. These people were very quickly disappointed and suffered from what I call the ” Attraction Reaction”, believing that nothing ever works for them and reverting to negative thoughts and emotions. There is no such thing as “Instant Karma ”, the universal laws work in their own time , at their own pace, and you have to work with them.
Only one important step is left to be done in order to set the Universal forces in motion. Remove, or at least diminish, all negative thoughts and beliefs from your subconscious mind. From early childhood onwards we are bombarded with facts, figures and beliefs from our Parents, family, friends, school, college, etc. This information is stored in the brain as memories, rather like the way data is stored on a computer. Not all of this information is needed or helpful, in fact a lot of it is downright destructive. Consider if you will, a child that is constantly reprimanded and told continuously that he or she will never amount to anything in life. This becomes so embedded in the mind, that later in adulthood, the person will have the idea so firmly rooted in their subconscious that it takes on a belief status. Such a person will now actually believe that they are worthless. The law of attraction does not Analise, it just gives you what you ask for, which is even more feelings of worthlessness. This deep-rooted acceptance of inadequacy and lack of self confidence can haunt a person throughout their life, making their social and their career endeavors nothing less than self-destructive.
Let us consider what would happen if such a person sees a film like “The Secret” or attends a self-help seminar . Maybe they are told to set a goal, write it down on a card and read it every day, with the feeling that they already possess what they are seeking. (sounds familiar ?Naturally, it has to work doesn't it ? — it’s the law of attraction. ——— In all probability it will not work! You see, the belief that the person will “never amount to anything” rises from the subconscious and says “Why try? You know nothing ever works out for you ”, and this just cancels out the wish to obtain their goal. That negative belief, — and most of us have more than one, will continue to be a stumbling block to success and happiness until it’s finally flushed from the system, deleted from the computer so to speak. One only has to consider how many people attend therapy sessions to realize what a problem negative beliefs are in our society.
The good news is that there are easy ways to let go of negativity. I will be discussing various methods in future posts.
