While some people rely on acne medication to prevent and cure their acne with some effort to make changes in their life there are other people that want to do all they can to improve their skin. These people want to make changes in their diet, exercise, water, sunshine, rest habits to get the best results in their skin. They will also look at herbs as a good acne natural remedy.

Moderate exercise would fall under the naturopathic acne natural remedy category and it is true that exercise is actually good for your skin. Exercise is valuable because it helps you maintain a healthy body and manage your stress levels. If you determine your acne is irritated by exercise, re-examine your routine. What you wear is important since tight and synthetic clothing do not breathe well. If your clothing is causing friction that is known to irritate skin. Where do you go to exercise? Do you enjoy your exercise? Research shows that if you are not doing an exercise you enjoy it will not provide the same benefits as doing something you enjoy. How vigorous is your workout? Interestingly, acne related to exercise is caused by what you put on your body to exercise and not the exercise itself. Identify and remove these outside factors, and you may put an end to your workout breakouts. Here are just a few things to watch for.

Cosmetics

When exercising, wear as little make-up as possible. Even oil-free and non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging) cosmetics can clog pores if worn during heavy exercise. When you're done working out, clean up as soon as possible. Cosmetics can cause a type of acne called Acne Cosmetica, which appears without exercise, but the opening of the pores and allowing foreign articles to get in the pore is something you want to avoid.

Sunscreen

If you like to exercise outside, always wear an oil-free sunscreen. Acne does appear to improve after exposure to the sun but research shows that too much sun exposure will actually clog pores and cause damage to the skin causing wrinkles and age spots. Some acne medications like Isotretinoin make skin more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is even more important. When you choose a sunscreen make sure you get one that is oil-free and has a SPF of at least 15 for UVA and UVB rays. Sunscreen can clog the pores like cosmetics so remember to wash up as soon after working out as possible.

Clothing

If you're prone to body acne, avoid clothing made 100% from lycra or nylon. Why? Synthetic clothing materials are known to trap heat and moisture. This would be against your skin, which is a good environment for bacteria to flourish, like the bacteria that causes acne. acnes, which is responsible for the inflammation that takes place in the hair follicle. For moderate exercise, your best bet is lightweight, loose-fitting cotton, or a lycra-cotton blend. Natural fabrics allow the skin to breathe, and loose garments are less likely to cause friction. If you're exercising intensely and sweating a lot you may want to try some of the new clothing made from material that is designed to wick moisture away from your skin.

Exercise Equipment

Some people are more likely to get acne from the body parts that touch the sports equipment. The best solution for this is a good fit, make sure your helmet doesn't slide around on your forehead, or your bathing suit isn't too tight under the arms. Exercise equipment related breakouts can also be prevented by lining your equipment like your helmet with a layer of soft cotton that can be washed; it's a great use for those old t-shirts. No matter what the sport, it's an excellent idea to keep your equipment clean and dry when not in use so unwanted bacteria or fungi do not colonize. Acne is caused by bacteria but there is another terrible skin condition that is bacterial as well, Folliculitis.

Moisture

No matter what you do to get your exercise; treadmill, trail, tennis court, or whatever, don't sit around in your sweaty clothes or wet bathing suit when you're done. If you can clean up right away and change into dry clothes. If this isn't possible, change into dry clothes after drying off as much as possible. A lot of people do not realize how important drying your skin is. When you dry your skin that has acne you want to pad it and not wipe it and make sure your towel is clean. Harshly drying your skin can irritate it and even force debris into the pores.

Showering

It is always best to shower immediately after exercising. Using a medicated exfoliant cleanser is a good idea too, but always be gentle with your skin. Scrubbing is not going to make your skin any cleaner, or make your acne go away; it is actually likely that it will irritate existing lesions and promote the development of new pimples by spreading the bacteria and pus. If it is not possible to shower right away, you can still prevent breakouts by wiping your skin with medicated pads. It is a good idea to keep a jar of these pads in your gym bag since you never know when you will need them.

Exercise is a good acne natural remedy and is an excellent option for people that want to treat acne homeopathically or naturopathically. It is a good practice for anyone since exercise increases endorphins in the blood, which help lower stress and our response to it. An appropriate exercise routine is a crucial part of your total health; and a body that is healthy will be more likely to have radiant skin.
