The plastic manufacturing industry is no different as manufacturers desire to make superior products with multifaceted applications both efficiently and effectively. One technique by which plastic manufacturers are able to manufacture products that can be used in a number of various situations is co extrusion. Using co extrusion, plastic manufacturers are able to combine multiple resins to create a single product. Co extrusion allows manufacturers to exploit the strengths of each of the various materials and produce a better quality product. How Does Co Extrusion Work? Co extrusion is a technique that is widely used by today's Plastic Manufacturers, and this method is used to produce a vast range of products with many different types of industrial applications. Co extrusion is the process by which two or more materials are extruded using a single die or tool. A different PVC Plastic extruder is used for each of the single materials from which the product is comprised and then feeds this material to the die or tool. This technique extrudes multiple layers of material simultaneously. The thickness of the material is also determined by the relative speeds and sizes of the individual extruders. By adding together the individual materials into one creation, the strengths from each of them can be exploited to full potential. Products produced by co extrusion can certainly have distinct properties such as stiffness, chemical resistance, heat sealability, and impermeability to name just a few. Co Extruded Window Gaskets: Window gaskets are just one of many products manufactured using co extrusion techniques. The main type of material used in the production of gaskets is thermoplastic elastomer. Thermoplastic elastomers are flexible, which allows for easy processing. These types of gaskets may also provide an edge over gaskets produced from other materials. Gaskets produced through the co extrusion process combine dual purpose with simplicity and ease of use. A great number of plastic products can be produced through the technique of co extrusion. Products created using the co extrusion process offer far more benefit than those created by other methods. Products manufactured through co extrusion can be tailored according to the product's intended application and always tailored to suit the specific needs of the customer and end user.
