Something that purports to become "Real" something but is based on selective editing from the television network, has to become, pretty significantly by definition, unreal. Yet Bravo TV network is now pushing the latest in their "Real Housewives" franchise of "reality television" shows. The cast of one of the most recent group of "housewives" has been performing the publicity tour. They've appeared on "The View" and on "Hoda and Kathie Lee," as well as a select few others. And one of the most well-known, er make that perhaps infamous, of the "housewives," Michaele Salahi, has whined that Whoopi Goldberg was nasty to her during the View interview and abused her after. In case, you missed it, Ms Salahi and her husband were the couple who snuck into a White House state dinner, causing all sorts of questions and problems for the Secret Service and eventually leading to the resignation of the then White House Social Secretary Desiree Rogers. Bravo TV was implored by numerous television watchers to not reward the Salahis by picking Ms Salahi as one of the "Housewives" but apparently, the free publicity was too significant for Bravo to ignore. Now no one knows if Ms Salahi had a great evening sleep the evening prior to her appearance on the View or if she sleeps on a memory foam mattress or if her mattress is really a king mattress or queen mattress. The same thing applies to Ms Goldberg. She might or might not sleep on the king size memory foam mattress. She might or might not have slept effortlessly the evening prior to the "Housewives" appeared on the View. But how and what kind of mattresses the Salahis and Ms Goldberg sleep on have small bearing on the situation as, like most everyone within the world, they all have to wake up each day and go about their lives, regardless of whether they slept on a quality mattress the evening prior to or not. Actually, all of them have much better opportunities to have a nice sleep on a great king mattress than numerous other individuals. And just as elite athletes discover to ways to cope with sleeping on mattresses of various sizes and comfort levels although they must go out and perform the next day, so should actors and reality show cast members discover ways to cope with life's small annoyances, even if they spent the evening prior to tossing and turning on the perhaps not very nice king mattress (or even on the twin mattress or a camping mattress). Of course, the elite athlete really has to perform live and generally doesn't get a do-over or second take or have the benefit of selective editing (unless it's editing of an interview occasionally).
