Will We Die In 2012?

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=111
By : John Q

This is probably one of the biggest questions that have been asked in recent years. There really are no easy answers to this, because there are so many people on both sides, saying yes, and no.

There are many different online forums, answer sites, as well as many others. There are so many theories, both based on some kind of evidence, as well as so outlandish that they are totally ridiculous, but many people are scared.

When it comes to the question of will we die in 2012, the truth is that nobody really knows.

There are many religious leaders that are saying that December 21 of 2012 is now the date that Armageddon will start.

Yet they have been saying this for a long time, and it seems that each time a certain date comes and goes, they draw another line in the sand and say that this is now the proverbial date when the world is coming to an end.

Others use the Mayan calendar, which is the long calendar that ends on this date. This calendar started around 3,000 BC, and is over 5,000 years old.

Does it actually say that the world is coming to and end and will we all die in 2012? No. It says that this date is the end of a cycle, and like all cycles, when one ends, another begins.

It does say that many different changes are in store for us and the planet, but these changes can be just as good, and well needed.

Many people who ask will we die in 2012 are scared because of all the worst case scenarios that have been depicted in recent years by many movies, from Armageddon, 2012, The Day After Tomorrow, just to name a few.

These movies depict really scary possibilities, and are designed to shake us to the core. Why is that? Certainly not because they will come true, but to make money at the box office.

Sure some of the things they include are loosely based on truths, that's just it, loosely base. 2012 is a perfect example. Sure there are signs that the poles have changed, but the problem is that this process takes thousands of years, not just a few years or even months.

When it comes to the question of will we all die in 2012, sure, many may die, in various different ways.

There will be some, just like in 1999 who get so freaked out that the world will come to an end that they will commit suicide and die.

Two years is a long time, and many may die on this date, simply because it was their time. Others, in a state of panic, may die in car accidents trying to rush to get out of cities.

Who knows, maybe some of the religious leaders, tired of having to keep drawing lines in the sand, will come up with some scheme to get all their followers together and poison them all, just like with Jim Jones in the Guiana tragedy.

Will there be changes? Sure. Many people may get so fed up with the church after this date comes and goes that they find a new enlightenment.
