It is the number one function of the facility management system to coordinate a safe and secure operation for the maintenance of the assets for a cost effective result. Another factor that needs to be considered is the janitorial services for a sanitized area for the tenants of the organization or establishment.

Along with these cases which involve the customers or occupants, it is a great deal that satisfaction is being provided. Facility management system is often mistaken with property management. Although it seems like they have the same meaning, they are not completely the same.

Both of them are managing the day to day activities and maintenance of the facilities like cleaning and securing but it must not be confused with janitors. It is a different thing. On the other hand, the property managers have more activities and roles such as marketing and leasing while the role of facility manager focuses on existing occupants and they take account with all the tenants' needs.

It represents continuous service provision that usually supports the owner's business core. It can be very essential to have a decision with the construction and design whether it can support and benefit the business. In this connection, this system can be contemplated as an integral part of a controlled process of engineering, operations and construction. There are major challenges that a facility owner is facing. One of these is reducing energy consumption for some economic reasons.

During the operational state of a facility, it reduces energy which is also similar with carbon emission reduction. So the facility management has a very significant role to play in building operations. To top all these up, securing and maintaining the facilities or equipments generally defines facility management system. All of the organizations are aware of this process since it can benefit them by saving more earnings from the business.
