How to Have a Superchild: More than Precious Moments Bedding

The goal of reproduction is to allow the next generation to live better lives than us. In order to do that, we want to give our children everything that we didn't have. This means more than material items; it translates into the added love and care that will make your child happy. These tips will help your child be smarter, happier and more aware of her surroundings, which will lead to a better life for her in the long run.

1. Play music for your baby: When he or she is lying in that infant crib bedding, play soft soothing classical music. The fugal poise of Bach is unparalleled, and Mozart's melodies define classical, but any composer – from Beethoven to Vivaldi – will spur the development of your child's brain.

2. Read to the baby: Before your child goes to sleep in his childrens twin bedding, and even when younger, when he sleeps in his precious moments bedding, sit next to him and read him a story. The sound of your voice alone will soothe, and the spongelike nature of a child's brain will allow him to absorb language faster and help him speak sooner.

3. School your baby: As soon as he can speak, try to teach him to read. Teach him about science and math, and foster his interests. Surround him with the arts by taking him to museums, reading him poetry and taking him with you wherever you go. Experience is important for children, but don't keep him beside you at all times – another healthy form of experience is being away from mommy and daddy.

4. Touch your baby: Touch is one of the most important ways a parent can demonstrate love. Infants, studies show, will die if they are not handled sufficiently by someone. Caress, cuddle, swathe, tickle, and play with your baby.

5. Keep your baby active: Don't allow more than a couple of hours in front of television or video games daily. This passive form of learning decreases a child's ability to focus, and could have negative repercussions when he starts school.

6. Socialize your baby: Especially if you have an only child, learning to share and get along with other kids is crucial to his development. Lavishing love on your baby is good, but you don't want to spoil him; that can easily lead to a sense of entitlement when he's older. Encourage play dates as well as alone time, so that your child can foster imagination and social skills.

These six tips should help you feel confident in raising a successful baby. Consistency is a large part of this, but so is a deviation from routine. If every day you go for an afternoon walk, on Friday go see a movie instead. These changes in schedule your child will remember for a long time, and will encourage her to seek out new, challenging experience when she is older.
