A Hosted Phone System and More: How To Make Your Small Business Grow

Being a small business owner in today's economic climate is something to be extremely proud of. So because you put a lot of work into conceptualizing, and eventually, opening your small business, you should be doing all you can to see it grow and flourish. There are many ways in which a business owner can truly see things grow, and here are few:

1) Look into getting a hosted phone system. Once your company has grown enough to where you have a pretty decently sized and stable client base, you're going to want to invest in top-of-the-line communications systems and really amp up your business phone system. Communications is extremely important because if you think about it, it's the bridge that links you with your customers. They expect to be able to reach you easily and efficiently. That goes far beyond having a voicemail service or a secretary to take messages. With the advent of smart phones, more and more people expect to be able to reach you though multiple platforms, from their handheld devices. A hosted phone system and VoIP technology allows you to effortless link your email, voicemail, and all phones on your business network with the greatest ease.

2) Get a business toll free number. A business toll free number is subtle way to let your prospective, as well as current clients know that you're a polished, professional, legitimate company. You don't have to be a huge, successful corporation to enjoy the benefits of a business toll free number, but you can give people the illusion that you are one every time they dial your phone number.

3) Expand your business to the internet. Bill Gates once said rather ominously that by the end of 2002, there will only be two kinds of businesses: those on the internet and those with no business at all. If your business doesn't have a website, you're missing out on reaching a huge audience. Furthermore, simply putting up a webpage and expecting to see business growth isn't realistic at all. You need to market your website to compete with the millions of others in the giant haystack that is the internet. If you have a website up and are frustrated with the lack of traffic, you should most definitely consider some sort of SEO based internet marketing campaign. By restructuring the content on your site to be search keyword rich, you are way more likely to see more inquiries into your site and in turn, more inquiries into your business.

4) Target other markets. If your current market is serving you well, and you feel you've adequately placed your business within that market, don't stop there—what other markets can you get into. Why not look for a market within your market? For instance, if you're market is 18-24 year olds, you should try to delve into that demographic, and find, say, where they spend their time. Many people in that age bracket are in some form of schooling. Could you present your business to colleges, trade schools, special interest groups, etc?
