Residual Income Means Little Effort To Maintain It

Many people think of residual income as a passive income. I like to think of it as an income that requires little effort to maintain. If you are going to work hard all of your life you might as well create as much residual income is possible.

The thought of getting paid in the future on work that you do right now is a very exciting thought. So what should you be looking for in a residual income opportunity?

1. Basic commodity items make for good residual income products. These are products that are going to be used up and repurchased. This is why companies such as Amway and Shakley have continued to thrive for so many years.

2. The product should be a quality product. If you expect people to purchase something and buy it again it must be a product that is of the highest quality.

3. MLM businesses offer excellent residual income programs. This is because the compensation plan allows you to get paid the efforts of others.

You are also getting paid when they purchase or sell products. In essence you are building a wholesale business that can grow to thousands of distributors.

The more people you have in your downline the more potential it brings to you. Eventually this can mushroom into a very large business that is bringing you in residual income with no effort on your part.

4. Selling memberships is another way to create a residual income. For example there are many membership sites on the Internet that will pay you on a monthly basis for the sales you've made.

By focusing on this type of income stream you can develop a very good monthly income. As long as people continue to renew their membership you will continue to be paid for making a sale.

Obviously you want to sell memberships to a site that provides a lot of value to their members. Otherwise more people will quit and you will never get to fully retire from it.

5. The residual opportunity you are representing should provide you with quality marketing materials. You want to focus all of your time on promoting on the Internet and not in developing marketing materials.

This should include banner ads, email messages, video marketing videos and so on. The more marketing materials you have to promote with the more marketing you can do.

In summary these are several things to look for in a residual income opportunity. You are looking to create an income that requires little effort to maintain and these five things will help.
