It 2012 false? It seems like a really simple question, and should have a simple answer, but this is far from the truth. With some of the predictions and prophecies about 12/21/2012 being based on some facts, or from reliable sources, it leads on to believe that even if some of the more outlandish claims might actually happen. Truthfully, this date will come to pass, in just over two years. Will the world come to an end through some great disaster on that day? Is this the final days that many Christian based religions say is Armageddon? Will the world be swallowed up with the rest of the solar system by a giant black hole, or the magnetic poles shift and tear apart the continents? How about a solar flare frying the atmosphere, along with all life as we know it, or some mysterious rogue planet smashing into us? You have to take many of these predictions with a grain of salt, and dismiss many as being just crazy. If some planet were to collide with us in just over two years, we would be able to see it with the naked eye by now. Sure there is a risk of solar flares, by then the sun will almost be at the peak of it's eleven year cycle. However, we are more likely to have a flare wipe out all electronics across our skies and across the world, setting us back a few hundred years than all of us getting fried. Other predictions are also unlikely to come true in ways that many people are afraid of. One of the more popular ones is that the magnetic poles will suddenly shift, like what happened in the movie 2012. While there is much scientific evidence there has been polar shifts, these changes took place over thousands of years. The lining up of the planets, in some celestial disaster really have already happened just a few years ago, and although those in the fields of astronomy got really excited, no major catastrophe happened. Now the Mayan and Aztec calendars are really coming to and end at this time, but if you really look into these facts, you will see that these calendars are at the end of a long cycle, and just like our own 12 month calendar, will start again. Will the world come to an end? Probably not, although there may be some dramatic changes in the attitudes of the people of the world, and there may be of course some Earth changes like more earthquakes and volcanoes erupting, as well as weather phenomenon. Does all of this make 2012 false? No but don't expect a dramatic or cataclysmic disaster either. What is more than likely to change is that many people will get tired of the church drawing a line in the sand, saying 'now this is when Armageddon is going to happen,' and start to wonder if there aren't more things about organized single god belief systems that are false as well. Maybe these folks are more likely to be enlightened and try something else. Whether or not 2012 is false really depends on what you yourself believe. If you think the world is coming to an end, then you should get yourself prepared, not by heading into some shelter or underground facility, it should be more about spending quality time with those you love while you have a chance. You can be doing other emergency preparations, because there will certainly be a lot of chaos going around.
