What do you have planned for 2012? Are you planning to make a bold, fresh start and approach life from many different perspectives? Are you perhaps fed up with the rut that appears to have been life for the past few years, as we all deal with the economic downturn? In recent decades we have been used to a financial slowdown every now and again, but always appear to bounce back fairly quickly. Thus, we've been able to live our lives in a very predictable fashion in many respects, but why should life be so predictable? As we can unfortunately see that this latest downturn has created a significant change in the way that everything seems to work in the world all around us, this is a great opportunity for us to "adjust" our own mindset. We can ensure that we pay more attention to how we interact with our family and friends and think about how we go about our daily lives. Therefore, this is a great time to consider renovating or refitting certain parts of your home to fit in with your new and very positive outlook on life. Where do you start your day? Of course it's in the bathroom as you transition from refreshing sleep and get ready for the various challenges ahead and the excitement that will represent your day. If you're still using the same bathroom configuration that you were when you moved into that home and it looks as if it may be, indeed, the original, then you absolutely must start here. You can't expect to have a brand-new and fully motivated outlook and approach to life in 2012 if the place you start your day tends to remind you of the old "you." It's time for you to do a little bit of research to look for inspiration. It's great that there are so many online sites that you can turn to, to do this browsing and when you're ready you should consult with a bathroom designer to help you put some of that inspiration into practice. Don't be afraid to tell the designer exactly what you have in mind and your motivation for doing this work in the first place. He or she will be able to combine your projections with practicality and put in place some of the finer and more inspiring elements associated with luxury bathrooms today. You might not think that "the smaller touches" can make a difference. You might not think that a complete remodelling of your bathroom can help you to face your day with renewed vigour, but don't underestimate the vitality and the extra spring in your step that such a makeover can impart. Other members of the family that use that room should also be involved in the planning and decision-making process, so that they can also enjoy the positive benefits associated going forward. Collectively, you'll be able to make sure that this year is one that makes a difference and sets the foundation for a brighter future.
