Right now if you were to engage in a conversation about soccer world cup winners the first thing that is going to be on everyone's mind is how Spain is the current champion over Holland. They are going to talk about how they went into overtime and won a blazing victory of 1-0. Although it was a very sad loss for Holland you will find that it was definitely a sweet sounding victory for Spain. It was a fight to the end and the game at times seemed to get a little dirty. But when you look back at some of the other winners in the past you will find that some of those teams fought just as hard and are able to say that they are the soccer world cup winners more than just once. Take for example Brazil and the fact that they actually won a total of five times. That is saying quite a bit and the fact that they managed to stay in the group stages 18 times. This is a team that is managed to be reckoned with and the last win was in 2002. But let us take a look at the team that won the cup 4 times and the last win was in 2006. We would be talking about Italy. This is a team that managed to stay in the group stages 16 times but unfortunately they were out of the group stage in 2010. Although they have been the soccer world cup winners for several years, they did have a lapse when they won in 1938 and then they did not win again until 1982. This shows that it takes a lot of hard work to be able to accomplish such a win. By doing a little bit of research on the internet you would be able to see who has won all of the games over the years. Of course, unless you are interested in past history of the game the only thing that is going to concern you is the here and now. Of course that being the soccer world cup winners of Spain. They played in South Africa while most of the world cheered them on to win the trophy and make their country proud. It was a fight to the finish even when it came down to playing overtime. Every four years team fight and compete to be the soccer world cup winners. Of course as with any sport it can be devastating to get all the way to the big game and then lose. But, it is also an honor to know that you had what it took to be able to get to the big game win or lose. These are the teams that have been able to compete against the best in the world and be able to come out on top whether they win or lose. This is the sport of fierce competition but with great rewards at the end of the road.
