Caring for leather ladies boots is an important step in preserving the look, feel and quality of the leather. It will also help extend the life of your boots. Periodic maintenance will help protect the leather from dirt, rain and snow.

One of the first steps to help protect the ladies boots is cleaning them with a leather cleaner or saddle soap. Use a soft cloth to gently remove soil. Allow them to dry thoroughly, before beginning next step.

The 2nd step in this process is conditioning. This step will help soften and moisturize the leather and will help it from drying and cracking. Use a conditioner recommended for leather. Begin by putting small amount of conditioner onto the boots with a clean soft cloth. After waiting at least 2 to 3 minutes, gently wipe any remaining product off.

The 3rd step in this process is polishing. Leather polishes for boots are available in a liquid, cream or paste form. Begin by using a soft cloth. Using a small amount of polish begin with small circular strokes. Allow to completely dry. When the boots are dry, you can gently rub a soft cloth over the boots to achieve a nice shine.

The fourth step in this process is preserve or weatherproof. If you plan on spending a lot of time in wet conditions, a beeswax product would be a good choice. This product helps to protect the boots from absorbing moisture into the leather. Under normal use a protective spray weatherproof would be sufficient in keeping the leather protected from the elements. Weatherproofing your ladies boots will help to protect them from the elements and extend the life of your boots. This is a very important step to follow.

Caring for suede ladies boots can be a difficult process. It is important with suede boots you purchase a suede protector. This product will help put a protective layer over the boots giving them protection against the elements. Once you apply the spray, let them dry thoroughly. Keep in mind that this will not completely protect them from water damage. Suede boots are not really suitable for rain and snow. The cleaning methods used in the above leather boots will not work for the suede boots. Instead a good choice for removing dirt in suede boots would be an eraser for quickly rubbing off a small amount of dirt, or use an emery board to lightly sand off the surface dirt. Suede boots can be a little higher maintenance, but with a little care you can keep them looking good.

Caring for your boots will extend the life and preserve their look for a long time.
