The Incredible Story Of The Tuscany Villa Sited On A Legendary Ley Line

Have you ever noticed that some places convey a real sense of peace, quietness and tranquillity? Places that make you feel like home. This could be not a chance.

It is not so easy to feel like that in our crowded cities, but there some special places, usually ancient buildings realized in complete harmony with the surrounding nature according to the secret energies of the universe, where this can be possible.

Have you ever wondered where all this great energy come from?

Sam and Mary Polland, English students at International School of Florencere did, after their stay in one of these incredible places, discovering to be a part of a mysterious yet really fascinating and unique story.

In Italy since last February, the Polland family chose to stay at Villa Le Colline, an historical villa to rent near Florence, in order to let children attend the International school, ten minutes walking far.

Built in the XVII century, Villa Le Colline is surrounded by a huge park, full of secular trees and olive plants.

The Pollands found Villa Le Colline was such a relaxing place, they decided to stay there even during the summertime, when the classes at school were over. They invited some friends to come and stay from England, since the villa has a dependence and a flat for guests.

Well, what was supposed to be a relaxing journey in Tuscany, became a real adventure.

One of the Polland guests, an archeological teacher friendly called by the family "Mr. Indiana Jones", was very surprised by the "strange" peace and silence surrounding the place and started thinking the special 'aura' could depend on the special location of the villa. "This could be - he speculated - one of those rare places that lay on a ley line".

Literally, a ley line is a straight way leading energy toward the skin of the heart, he explained. This term was originally coined by Alfred Watkins in the 1920s to describe what he perceived as straight alignments of ancient sites across countries. Dolmen and old churches, for example. During the centuries, people have discovered that there is a special energy on the ways (ley lines) connecting the sites where the vibration power is particularly high.

"In order to understand this" Mr Jones said, "you have to consider that no temple, no castle, no church, no noble house in the past, was built if not after studying the position in relation to the sun and the entire cosmos. Men felt themselves just a part of the environment and so they tried to capture and to use the energies of the planet in order to make the place they choose to live in really ideal."

"A Leyhunter is definitely cooler than a tourist", must have been thinking Sam and Mary Polland, proposing to the group to search for the truth about Villa le Colline ann the ley line where it lies.

Now, as for Master Watkins instructions, first of all you have to look for connections on maps and find out on documents if the place can be connected to other "energetic centers" in the area.

Villa Le Colline in Tuscany, is located just in the middle between San Luca near Bologna and Sant'Antimo near Siena. These churches are definitely the most energetic sites in the area: San Luca has been built over an ancient pagan temple linked to the Earth Goddess, while Sant'Antimo has three underground rivers crossing themselves under the altar. Springs are usually considered centers of positive powers.

Now, let's guess where Villa Le Colline lies? Yes, you guessed it right, exactly on the ley line between them.

Leyhunting second rule is looking for water. As for Sant'Antimo indeed, the telluric force of the site is multiplied by the presence of water, which intensifies the vibrations.

In "Memorie istoriche della miracolosa immagine di Maria Vergine dell'Impruneta", a book dated back to 1790, the author Giovan Battista Casotti wrote that the church of Impruneta was built on a source of "miraculous water". The wellspring was renowned in Florence and Impruneta for its healing properties, so the citizens protected and covered it in a cistern since 1445.

But the spring had another course with the same properties descending from Santa Maria mountain and called "Acqua della Docciolina". Nobody knows where this underground river passes by and if it still exists.

Well, guess what? Villa Le Colline private park is right at the feet of Santa Maria mountain. Villa Le Colline park is huge and not so easy to be searched, especially if what you are looking for is not actually "visible and tangible".

After two entire weeks spent hunting high and low, while everybody did not hold up much hope to find out more, the unexpected happened. An old housekeeper passed by for a visit at Villa Le Colline, and listening to the story of the Polland family, he remembered something strange. In one of the many living rooms of the Villa, under a carpet, there had always been a particular, different tile hidden in the big brick floor in original terracotta with a strange name on it: 'Docciolina'.

That's how simple dinner conversations can become real adventures, if you are staying in an ancient villa to rent in Tuscany! Many ley lines are yet waiting to be discovered. Find yours….
