There was always somewhat of a gray area in the printer toner section. Nobody really knows for sure if it is all right to use 3rd party toners or refilled toners instead of genuine Brother toners and other manufacturer toners. True, using refilled toners can save quite some money on the short run, but the picture changes when users start to realize the damage these toners can do to the machines, and the noticeable difference in printing quality. There are many ways to refill a toner, some people even do it on their own... When you buy a refilled toner you don't really know who or what is refilling your cartridge - which by the way, are designed for one time use. Many independent businesses engage in toner refilling, an act which most of the brands disapprove of. These businesses remove the manufacturer name from the toners in order to avoid law-suites and complaints, and the user has no one to turn to if these cartridges damage the machinery. But actually, what was considered to be a gray area, is pretty clear after all. Many manufacturers distributed official pamphlets regarding this issue, for example Brother released a warning that encourages users and offices to stay away from any type of third-party toners and cartridges in their Brother printers. Brother practically approved the notion that 3rd party toners damage printers in the long run by showing damaged printers and bad printing quality - all because of using refilled toners and not genuine Brother Toners. There are many issues and troubles that can occur when using third party toners instead of genuine Brother toners. Common problem include: - Machine making clicking or abnormal grinding noise
- Prints are coming out to light or even blank
- Front cover does not or is difficult
- Drum/toner cannot be removed from the machine
- Paper jam in the drum area All of these are severe malfunctions that can only be fixed by professional technicians. The problem is that companies will cancel their warranty once they notice that a third party toner was used and caused the trouble. Another thing you might want to consider is the fact that Brother Toners and other original toners use higher quality filing that is 100% uniformed in shape. But business that refill and reuse cartridges use low-quality carboznied or milled toner, and the end result is you having poor prints and severe damage to your machine! Still many people will use refilled toners because they would like to save on the costs. Sorry to say but this is also a misperception and buying original Brother toners and other original toners can even be cheaper - that's if you are a smart shopper who knows where to do business. Of course that major retailers will sell original toners for premium prices but that's not the case when you turn to an internet wholesaler that can provide you 100% genuine but always extra cheap Brother toners.
