Is Home Microdermabrasion Truly Safe?

With the advent of smaller machines and creams now available anywhere, home microdermabrasion is increasingly becoming popular. This holds true among more mature women who find it more convenient to take care of their skin at home on their own. Unlike when they were in their twenties, going from one mall to another and visiting different spas and boutiques may not be as interesting as it was.

Therefore, they would rather stay at home and use a home microdermabrasion machine by themselves. But, there are some women who think that doing this on their sensitive skin is risky. Out of fear, they still go to the spas as often as needed despite the inconvenience.

A lot of skin experts and dermatologists attest that microdermabrasion is safe in general. There is barely any reason to be concerned about it that they may consider home microdermabrasion as applicable for almost all adult women. However, this may be only for those who have no serious skin disorders. Thus, for a person who is determined to purchase a home microdermabrasion machine and do the routine on their own, it may be appropriate to first consult with a skin doctor to check if she has skin concerns. If the doctor sees no signs of such conditions, the use of the machine would be considered as safe. If a problem truly exists, the doctor would recommend a more effective solution to instead.

Some women may have complaints of having reddish complexion that they usually get after a microdermabrasion session. Even though it is not a nice to see, this is basically harmless. This is a temporary condition and will be gone in an hour. In fact, this is a sign that the microdermabrasion was successfully done. The reddish complexion means that the outermost layers on your face, which are mostly made of dead skin has been removed. Another probable result that women would likely to experience is to have dry skin. This also is an immediate effect of the process that doesn't indicate serious damage. Besides being a rare occurrence, this is also a temporary thing. After a day, the natural oils will be regained, giving the skin with natural smoothness and radiance.

There's no reason why you shouldn't be taking care of your skin even when you are at home most of the time and the nearest skin clinic to you would take miles to drive. You can always choose to get a home microdermabrasion machine.
