Chinese New Year Wisdom On Abundance

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.articlesbacklink.com/rss.php?rss=140
By : Shamala Tan

2012 and the Year of the Dragon seem so significant for many people. People who believe in these as transformational signs may take steps to make sure that they are on the right track in life whether it is with regards to their spiritual growth or to increase abundance.

So with Chinese New year around the corner, I am inspired to write this article with the traditional and superstitious practices of Chinese New Year in mind.

As a child celebrating Chinese New Year the older folks would remind us children to put on happy facesin order to welcome in prosperity and abundance in the new year. We were forbidden to be sulky, grumpy, do anything or say anything negative because these acts would drive good luck away!

As a teenager I used to laugh at these superstitious thinking and wondered how did educated people just lose their common sense when Chinese New Year comes around.

I am older now, and perhaps God willing I am wiser too. I no longer laugh at the traditional superstitious practices and I respect what works for other people. I have to say that some of the practices do make sense.

I realise that yes, there are many superstitious practices in how we welcome in the new year, such as no sweeping the floor on the first day of the new year. At the same time there is a degree of wisdom in some of the practices like putting on happy faces to bring in prosperity.

If you have read any books on manifesting, or cultivating abundance, you would have seen that they almost all teach the same thing -- positive thoughts create positive feelings driving positive actions. Or God aligned thoughts create God aligned feelings catalyzing God aligned actions to manifest positive and God aligned results.

This is a simple concept, yet extremely challenging to apply because it is so easy to give in to the negative side. BUT when Chinese New Year comes around, there is certainly enough motivation for everyone to be on their best behaviour -- thinking, feeling and acting positively!

Don't you wish every day was Chinese New Year? ;)

I leave this article with a picture of prosperity for you -- a symbol in gold and striking red to remind you to bring in positive energies into your life. And to put on your happy face!

May every day be Chinese New Year for you. And may you prosper in all aspects of you life.Gong Xi Fa Cai!
