Photorealist artist Sarah Graham has inspired a toy designer to make a bespoke Sindy doll. Toy designer Rachel Godfroy Scott has created a Sindy doll based on the major themes of Sarah Graham's art such as her use of pick n' mix sweets, lollipops and bright and vibrant colours. Ms Godfroy Scott offered to make the doll after meeting Sarah Graham at one of the artist's exhibitions earlier this year. The Sindy doll has tiny wrapped sweets attached to her bright red hair, a dress bodice made up of lollipop wrappers, a red skirt complete with multicoloured stars, rainbow themed socks and red shoes. Graham said on her official site: "The chupa wrappers were carefully pressed onto a fabric so they could be stitched to make the bodice of the dress, and it even has a velcro seam at the back so I can dress her up in other outfits...not that I ever will!" Sarah Graham revealed on her official website that she has been obsessed with Sindy dolls and creating art since childhood so the creation of the toy was received as a great compliment. The artist posted a link to the doll on her Facebook page and said that it was one of the highlights of her career to date. Sarah Graham wrote on her website: "I can't thank Rachel enough for creating her, if someone had told me as a child that one day I would have my very own exclusive doll based on my ideas, I would never have believed them!" There are a number of Sarah Graham prints available featuring dolls such as English Rose, Sheer Blonde and Brilliant Brunette which focus on the face and hair of each toy. The artist produces such lifelike paintings in the photorealism genre that many people confuse Sarah Graham prints for actual photographs. Sarah Graham revealed that she likes the new Sindy doll so much that she will have to immortalise it in a painting. There has been a positive reaction to the doll on Facebook as pictures of the toy have prompted Sarah Graham fans to leave complimentary messages. Dawn Ogilvie posted on the social networking site: "Oh my god! A bespoke Sindy! What an amazing compliment, well done you!" Sarah Graham graduated from Leicester's De Montfort University in 2000 with a BA in Fine Art and has since signed to Washington Green Fine Art Publishing.
