§ Excess calories tend to get stored as fat. So if you are not going to use all those calories or energy in your diet, consider eating less or in line with the amount of energy you need in a day.

§ Break down your meals into smaller portions and eat more frequent like 3-5 times a day to help keep your metabolism going and not starve yourself. The secondyour body senses that you are starving, it automatically reduces your metabolism therefore making weight loss ineffective.

§ Eat slowly even when you are very hungry. If you eat more slowly, you tend to get full quickly and still eat less than you would when you eat too quickly.

§ Eat leafy vegetables, lean meat, fruits, and whole grains. Consume various foods that can give the body the nutrients it needs. You can choose to get whole-grain products instead of plain ones for bread or biscuits.

§ Get dairy products that have less fat content, about less than 2%.

§ Most foods we enjoy nearly all are usually unhealthy; however, you don't to deprive yourself totally. Just eat in lesser portions so that you will won't be tempted to pig out.

§ Substitute healthy snack alternatives. Get vegetables such as carrot sticks or fruits can also be great and healthy snacks. You can also consider making fruit smoothies.

§ Stay clear of buffet tables. It can have a very tempting effect to see the sight of abundant food beautifully displayed.

§ Make sure to keep yourself hydrated, take sufficient amounts of water especially after your meals. It is recommended that you take in at least 8 - 10 glasses per day.

§ Cut down on foods that contain plenty of sugar and salt. Snacks like pizza, cakes, potato chips, donuts, and pies normally have a lot of sugar and salt included and have less in nutritional value. They're sometimes known as “empty calories”

§ For caffeine and alcohol lovers, minimize your consumption on these beverages. Your limit should only be at least 1-2 cups daily.

Lastly, if you don’t feel hungry, don’t eat at all or just eat moderately. and always take some fluids.
