1. Hot pants Hello 2010, it’s 1970 calling, I’m back in town! As the miniskirt’s successor, hot pants managed to show even more leg then the world had been previously privy to. 2. Lace clothing Nothing says vintage like a splash of lace. The perfect feminine touch for an English rose or lady who lunches, lace is timeless and elegant. For a harder look, pair with black motorcycle boots and a leather bomber jacket. 3. 1960s everything The 60s was the decade that broke every mold and every fashion tradition. From culottes to go-go boots, bikinis to miniskirts, each style mirrored the social movements of the time. The psychedelic prints, tie-dyes and mismatched patterns are still major influences in today’s fashion. 4. Nautical Stripes “There’s nothing that screams summer more then French sailor stripes worn by the water” according to Fashion Spot’s Runway news. Coco Chanel was definitely on to something when she feminized the fisherman look. 5. Jumpsuits Who says only babies can wear one-pieces? For a fun and sporty look try a cotton jumpsuit. It’s the perfect way to cinch in your waist and show off your legs, and can be easily paired with sandals or ballet flats for a comfortable day look, or high heels and red lips for nighttime. 6. Military When isn’t military in fashion? Camouflage suits every style from grunge to boho, chic to sporty. Pick a cut that suits your mood and rock out. Sport a work dress with combat boots or an army jacket with black leggings and pumps. 7. Boyfriend It is exactly what it sounds like- wearing your boyfriend’s clothes. Apparently the whole trend began when Katie Holmes was spotted wearing Tom Cruise’s slouchy jeans. When fashion icons like Sarah Jessica Parker and Rachel Bilson followed suit, brands like the Gap and H&M took the initiative to incorporate the style into their women’s lines. 8. Denim There’s no such thing as too much denim. This fabric has seen every fad and can be worn every way. From vests to jackets, shorts to jeans there is no cooler look on earth then denim. And guess what, the less you wash it, the better it looks! 9. Summer beach dress For the ultimate summer sun swept look try a maxi dress. Perfect for the beach or city, day or night, the maxi dress is comfortable and pretty. It should be fashionably paired with sandals and fun jewelry for a complete look. 10. Plaid Are lumberjacks back? Well, not really. But plaid is in. It ties denim, boyfriend and even military nicely together for a cool look that segways perfectly into autumn. Should almost always be worn with jeans and a bit of edge.
