Photo-realist artist Sarah Graham has revealed on Facebook that she is currently working on new paintings.

The British painter is famous for her Sarah Graham prints featuring lollipops, children's toys and Volkswagen camper vans but has been coy about what her new artwork will focus on,

Sarah Graham told her Facebook fans that she had been busy taking photographs but failed to state what the subject matter was going to be, however she had mentioned previously that they would not include any robots.

She said: "I've been doing A LOT of photography this past week, and have some new ideas I'm so excited about and am desperate to share, but will have to wait to see how they materialize in paint."

Sarah Graham began to paint from photographic source material while studying fine art at De Montfort University in Leicester and has continued with photorealism throughout her career since graduating in 2000.

She said: "I start by taking a staged photograph in my studio. Although I enjoy photography, painting is my first love, and I may take as many as 200 photos of a subject before I'm happy with one."

Photorealism gained prominence as an art movement in the United States during the late 1960s and early 1970s and famous artists have included Chuck Close, Charles Bell and Tom Blackwell.

Samantha Jackson, from Washington Green Fine Art Publishing, told the Metro that Sarah Graham prints are likely to be popular with art enthusiasts who wanted imaginative pieces.

She said: 'We expect Sarah's work to connect with a whole new generation of people looking for a highly original style of art to decorate their walls.'

Sarah Graham's work is not just limited to the canvas as the artist has teamed up with handbag designer Helen Rochfort to create a range of cute and kitsch handbags, which Glamour magazine said were in the top 15 fashion collaborations of the year.

Fellow artist Simon Claridge urged his Facebook fans to view Sarah Graham's page as the pair of painters are good friends having started their careers together at a similar time.

Claridge said on the social networking website that Graham was responsible for selling his first picture which set him on the path to becoming a professional artist.

Facebook visitors can also see pictures and videos of the artists signing copies of limited edition Sarah Graham prints and Simon Claridge prints.
