It may have sounded impossible at the time of floppy disk drives that massive amounts of data could be transmitted at just the touch of a button from device smaller than a cigarette case. Modern technology has made it possible and data along with massive data drives no longer remained bound by the confines of a desktop. Cloud servers uk have made it possible to move huge amount of data at the press of a button. Distant and powerful private cloud servers have now become home to data of many sorts and the idea has existed in the technology world for a very long time. From gamers to power computer users and programs, all choose to access their precious data from sky borne servers. Even handheld devices can now compute, upload and access data from these remotely positioned servers. At the boom of internet revolution in the twenty-first century, the concept of cloud computing and storage was present but was not utilized extensively. Certain very reputable companies who made a living out of the internet initially started giving remote data storage both free (for limited space) and a sizable amount for a nominal fee. The unavailability of the broadband did not make this technology an instant hit but it its usefulness was made very clear. Another reason for lukewarm response from the users to the remote drives was exclusiveness of the applications. FTP based application were complex and used only by website developers to upload their data on the designated servers. Only browsers were used to simulate the virtual drives and were very limited in functionalities. The portable operating systems made it possible to minimize the complexities of the applications of porting data over remote drives. As phones became smarter and broadband internet became a house hold requirement, rapidly reducing disk spaces brought the idea of air borne drives back. Smartphone's more powerful than PCs helped applications transform into apps. The application of a virtual drive is dependent on an artificial environment called virtualization. This environment simulates a favorable condition for a conduit to open up in the server hosting the virtual drive or data. By a process called scaling, the application fits into multiple operating systems and scales the system requirements as per the processing power of the device. From hand held gaming devices to phones and laptops, all are making proper and full use of cloud hosting services to their full extents. Storing live backups of entire devices and sharing torrents of information on a number of platforms, the hosting services are making their applications smarter day bay day. Dependency on the hardware has been deemed redundant due to the evolution of the application. Cloud hosting has made it possible for a number of technologies to evolve into more better and effective forms of themselves. Who would have thought a simple phone could do so many things from data stored on a distant sever just by click clacks of a few application buttons. At the end, hardware has been proven inferior against the power of software that is the product of intellect and pure intelligence.
