Ever dreamed of being Count Dracula or a Playboy bunny? How about A Nascar driver, police officer, or a Vegas showgirl? Why not try a sexy Burlesque performer look, a 1950's siren, or being a 1920's flapper girl? Even if it is a weeknight, October 31 is the one day of the year when plenty of outrageous costume parties are happening in the Halloween party scene. Halloween is that one day where you have a free pass to let loose, live out your wildest fantasies and be whoever you've always wanted to be. You may not be a youngster anymore, but that doesn't mean you can't make big plans to knock everyone's socks off with the perfect costume. You may even be able to win a costume contest if you really want to get creative. The Halloween Party scene offers endless themes and contests for the best Halloween costumes. Check the local listings to see what kind of party themes are happening to help formulate your costume idea. Find out who's giving away the best contest prizes and try to find out who won last year and what costumes they wore. Then do your best to come up with something even more dazzling and spectacular. If you have a great body, there is a wide selection of sexy Halloween costumes available. Even if you don't have the greatest body, there are sexy plus-sized costumes available too. Why not? You only live once and it might inspire you to slim down so you can get into an even skimpier costume next year. Just go for it and have fun. There is no bigger disaster than to show up at a party only to find someone in attendance is wearing the same thing you are wearing. The chance of this is even greater on Halloween since many of the guests may be shopping at the same store where you bought your costume. So what can attract attention and set you apart from the others? Try to come up with some unique props that relate to your costume and have some sort of activity you do with these props. If you are in some sort of baseball uniform, bring a sports bag full of whiffle balls and a bat and have people pitch you some balls. Invite people to play catch. If you are a fairy or warlock, have a healthy supply of glitter to use as fairy dust or magic potion. If your costume has a vampire theme, don't forget the fangs and fake blood capsules. If you are a cop, write people some funny and outrageous tickets. If you plan to attend a Halloween party in a large city, competition will be stiff. If you are planning on winning a contest, start hitting the costume shops and planning early. You'll need time to develop your special theme. Many costume shops have webpages displaying their costume collections online, so you can start your research now.
