Blackberry Bold Repair Tips

Interested in DIY BlackBerry Bold repair but don't know where to start? This article will cover some basic aspects to get you going - but first, a legal disclaimer: All the information contained here are presented for purposes of "human interest" and should not be misconstrued as professional advice of any kind whatsoever, with neither the author or publisher held liable for its use! But before you begin ensure the right blackberry parts are at hand. Let's do this thing.

Okay, with that out of the way, let's get started on your BlackBerry Bold repair! To begin with, make sure your 'Berry is laid out flat on a soft and clean surface, such as a rubber mat or piece of cloth. You will also need a set of tools, miniature screwdrivers and the like, common hardware such as is used by computer technicians (though your do-it-yourself project shouldn't be anywhere near as complex!).

Now simply turn your BlackBerry so that it's laying on its face, with its back towards you. Remove the battery door and battery. Remove any cards, such as SIM and microSD, if present. So far so good, right? Nothing's actually been done yet that even begins to qualify as repair - but now you're going to take a spudger (also spelled "spludger") and remove the Torx screws of your 'Berry. This is the start of the BlackBerry Bold repair proper!

Remove all the screws you can using the appropriately headed spudger from your toolkit. Turn your device around and make sure to remove those underneath the front cover. At this point, you should be able to easily loosen the Bold's metallic frame or faceplate - congrats! You're approaching the "inner sanctum." Now remove the screws on the LCD screen's frame, as well as those securing the keypad. Your'Berry is now about as exposed as it will ever be! Only remove the logic board, taking care to disconnect the LCD connector.

That's all! Your Bold's logic board should be free of the rest of the case now, as well as the keypad and faceplate. You can now go on to make any repairs you need or replace whichever part you want! Incidentally, the simple steps outlined here should apply to many other makes of BlackBerry, as common design elements are to be found throughout the RIM inventory. Most DIY repair jobs are this simple with a BlackBerry; though if your device is still under warranty why not let RIM handle it? Being a Canadian company, they are sure to have generous consumer-friendly policies in place!

But of course if a thought comes up where handling it or repairing it manually may result to an even bigger problem than it would be best to allow professionals to handle it although it is a simple process, better to be safe than sorry right? But just remember a little bit of confidence is all that takes unless you would rather not take the risk at all, which doesn't mean you're not a risk taker just being cautious that's all. Well good luck.
