Artist Evokes King of Pop

Artist Fabian Perez's stylish artwork has evoked the memory of the King of Pop Michael Jackson.

The Fine Art Blog said that Perez's piece Man in Black Suit was their favourite as it reminded them of Michael Jackson's classic retro gangster look complete with trilby hat during his Billie Jean era.

Perez's mysterious characters are inspired by the artist's childhood spent with his father, a brothel owner who operated outside the conventional post-Peron society in Argentina.

Many Fabian Perez prints resemble the feel of Jackson's Smooth Criminal video which sees the singer perform in Club 30's, a magical nightclub filled with zoot suiters and swing dancers.

Jackson wears a chic white suit during the video as he battles with a mobster, played by Joe Pesci, and his henchman who are intent on getting the entire population of Earth addicted to drugs.

The Fine Art Blog said: "The detail in the piece is incredible: the folds in the clothing make it realistic and the pose struck by the character makes me think of Michael Jackson in his 'Smooth Criminal' music video."

Fabian Perez prints have been likened to work by British artist Hamish Blakely who also paints sultry images of beautiful women and shady gentlemen.

Blakely said: "As far as subject matter is concerned, I have always loved painting people, favouring glimpses of figures and anatomy.

"Even in the enormous, allegorical works of classical masters, I have always been drawn to confined areas of a piece - a spotlit area that reveals a rigid jaw line, or the twist in a turned neck."

Safetalks Business Blog has urged people to invest in Fabian Perez prints because artwork by the South American is likely to increase in value due to the growing popularity of the paintings.

The blog said: "Any collector should also consider Fabian Perez art for their collection, whether they are purchasing canvas prints for the first time or have a whole series of paintings already in the home."

As well as being a renowned artist, Fabian Perez is also an author and a keen martial artist.

The Argentinean uses martial arts techniques to help clear his mind before attempting a new painting.

"It's been thirty years that my wheels travel on a sandy road. In my tracks, I've left things behind, and lost many others. As the wheels turn I can see a road ahead that will take me to many new experiences," from Perez's book Reflections of a Dream.
