Car leasing is a good idea when it comes to moving across town. Why hire a moving company when you can handle the move yourself? Moving company costs more than leasing a vehicle and you will own the vehicle for a longer period of time. This is a smart decision on many levels.

Moving can be a stressful situation. It can be especially stressful if there are movers in your home touching all your things, packing them in a way you would not have done yourself. Many times it is best to do things yourself and packing and moving is one of them. With a car lease for six months or a year, you will be able to accommodate your schedule the way you want it to be.

In addition to trusting someone else, there is the cost. Many moving companies will charge by the hour for packing up a home. Then they charge by the hour and the mile for driving the boxed goods to the new location. All this adds up and you end up paying so much to get your furniture and other items to the new location and often, there is no guarantee they will arrive in one piece.

With a rental truck, you are limited to a small window of time. This could be anywhere from four hours to a weekend. Then you will need to rush back to the rental company to return the vehicle. With a leasing van, you have much more time to pack and unload and do the move the right way.

Another time when leasing a van would come in handy is when an appliance needs replacing. They seem to go out when they are older and have been moved from one location to another. Saving on delivery charges can add up to big savings.

There are always going to be lots of little things that you will need to purchase when you move into a new home. From dishtowels so drink coasters to cleaning supplies, these little things can add up to a big haul from the store. It is nice to have a large vehicle when it is time to load up on supplies.

Leasing a van will also come with a maintenance package. This will take care of things such as oil changes and routine maintenance. This will be helpful when it comes time to change the oil or rotate the tires for the costs of these things are becoming more expensive every year.

Why van leasing for a move is better than short term hire would be answered with a car lease. This is because a leased vehicle could be used for many more days than a traditional rented van that only give someone a few hours. In addition, there may be times when you need the extra cargo space and will not want to rent another van. In the long run it just saves money.
