After eight years in the home business and work at home niche I know why most people do not make money online. It generally comes down to a handful of reasons and if you are not making money online one of these probably applies to you. 1. When you work at home online for yourself you are your own boss. You need to be somewhat entrepreneurial in nature if you're going to have the self-discipline to do what is necessary to make money from home. I see many people start off the day with good intentions only to quickly be sidetracked. There are plenty of things you can do to keep busy all day long and you will not make money. Yard work, running errands, taking a nap, going to a movie, watching television, walking the dog, doing something with the kids, and so on can take you away from the work you need to be doing. The only way you are going to make money at home on the Internet is sit down and work for an extended period of time. 2. Most people do not know what products they want to sell on the Internet. Even people who join affiliate marketing programs have a problem with this. This could quickly be solved if people would purchase the affiliate products they are going to represent. Then learn proven strategies in terms of marketing your affiliate products online. There are plenty of forums you can hang out and to learn how to do affiliate marketing. There are also membership sites you can join to receive personal attention or coaching if you need it. 3. Most people underestimate the competition on the Internet today. If you are going to try to sell something online you will need to promote your website in multiple ways. I see people try things like the article marketing and give up when they have written and submitted three articles and not getting traffic from them. There are billions of websites online all competing for attention. If you expect to sell anything on the Internet you will need website traffic and you will be competing with other Internet business owners just like you. You must start thinking bigger in terms of things you do to promote online. 4. People try get paid to programs can quickly get frustrated with them. You certainly can get paid to read email. However this may only work out to a penny for every email you click on to read. You could work a whole day on the Internet and never make more than $10 doing this which is not a very good hourly rate. The same thing is true with doing data entry, typing at home, and taking paid surveys. All get paid to programs do not pay a lot of money and your hourly rate will not be very high. However you will get to choose when you want to work, and what work you do, plus you can do it from the comfort of your own home. 5. It's easy to get sidetracked. People who do the best at making money online are those who have a product or service they believe in. Then they have tunnel vision and focus on that one thing. These are a few tips to consider on why people do not make money online. You may fall into one of these categories. If you're willing to make corrections into your own moneymaking strategies you can earn money using the Internet.
