Chango and Oshun, A Match Made In Hell

Falling in love is such a great thing. Chango and Oshun ideally are perfect for each other. Chango is the personification of the masculine figure. Oshun is the goddess of love, divinity, and beauty. These two forces coming together create the ultimate power couple. But when the Honeymoon is over and the spark is gone, all hell can break lose. Falling out of love is awful, and the experience can be worse than an addict detoxing in rehab. One of the reasons why love hurts so badly is because our emotional memory is twice as long as our mental memory.

Our emotional memory works more like a long distance marathon runner, while our mental memory is more of a sprinter. Our emotional memory is like the energizer bunny. Even when we are old and suffer from long-term and short-term memory loss, our emotional memory keeps going and going and going.

Scientist and holistic heath Practioners believe that the emotional memory is part of the aura. The aura is the invisible field that surrounds the body and all living organisms. The aura has bands of energy that all vibrate at different frequencies. The layer that Oshun rules over is called the emotional layer. Two people with similar vibrational frequencies are often attracted to each other. The invisible force that pulls them together is called magnetism. The field of magnetism is Chango's domain. When two organisms, or people, continue to vibrate at similar frequencies, their auras began to merge. The feeling of falling in love is so intense because you are not only feeling your own emotions, but your partner's as well.

However, the merging of auras can also produce a negative effect. When the spark is gone, the chemistry is lost, so is the synergy and vibrational levels of a couple involved. It's common sense, right? Wrong. Couples fail to understand that using lower emotions like arrogance, greed, jealousy, and envy are extremely toxic. Transferring negative energy to your partner is like giving him or her a disease. It kills the chemistry that two people share. Then, it makes it difficult to rebuild the relationship and get the "spark" back because the negative aspects of it are too strong. There are people who end relationships because they are "emotionally" draining. Just remember, if you've experienced the feeling of love, you are bonded to your partner, and feelings whether positive or negative are much more intense.

The best way to combat this is to use the yin and yang concept. When one person is weak, the other partner must be strong. However, in order for this to work a couple has to understand what each other's weaknesses and strengths are. They must also agree to continue to work together.
