4 Unforgettable Holidays

Once in a lifetime holidays only come round every ten years or so, sometimes longer. Here are a few ideas to help you plan your next one whether you are trekking through the jungle or relaxing on the beach beneath a fabric shade.

1. Private Yacht

Ever wanted to live like Roman Abromovic? Not the part where you run a declining football club captained by John Terry and you sack the manager every eighteen months, but where you get to holiday on a private yacht.

Private yachts aren't just the reserve of the super-wealthy, although most people who own are very well-off, as they are hireable. Of course you also don't need to hire one that is grossly over-sized for anything other than a party for hundreds if you're taking the family away for a fortnight, so you can compromise on just how lavish it is without losing any of its purpose.

One of the key factors in driving up the cost of holidaying on a yacht is the location in which you wish to sail or anchor. Abramovic, for example, tends to anchor his in the Mediterranean just near Monaco, which is considerably more glamorous than sticking it outside Grimsby for a week.

2. The Inca Trail

Not quite in the league of the super-wealthy, this one, with many middle class people now able to afford the flight to Peru and then the three or four day hike along the trail before getting to the ancient city of Machu Pichu. It's an incredible experience for which you need a bit of fitness, and given that you are flying so far it is something you should make part of your holiday, perhaps mixing in a few days in Cuzco or even exploring the Peruvian capital of Lima.

3. Renting a Location

Villas can be some of the most relaxing places to go to when you are on holiday. The more isolated the setting the more relaxed and peaceful it can be and therefore more useful when trying to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday working life. And after all that is often what holidays are about - getting away from it all and experiencing something completely different.

Villa holidays are often nowhere near as expensive as other luxury holidays as you can often get the warm weather in Europe meaning air fares are cheaper and with several of the warmer Euro zone countries struggling economically there's a chance that everything else will be that much cheaper too.

4. In The Sun

A holiday in the sun is always fun, as you relax in a warmer climate. Of course, you need to make sure that you don't get too badly burned as this can cause skin cancer later in your life. Therefore, make sure that stay in the shade beneath a canopy shade and you will enjoy the warmth without the health risks.

There are many ways you can enjoy your holidays - what will you do next?
