Not all companies like to follow the popular trend of outsourcing. Because these service companies are usually offshore (India, China, Korea, and Philippines), there are difficulties that may be encountered. Difficulties that may cost the company a lot of lost revenues and profits. Here are just some of the things that may be encountered by US companies using offshore services.

First, despite the promise that these offshore companies claim that they have the knowledge and capability to be competitive with the American service personnel; they are not as knowledgeable as one might think. Most of these companies only know of one SEO, linking, and nothing else. Second, language barriers.

Some companies get frustrated with the inability of some providers to check their spelling and grammar. Applicants to job posts that require American English that is grammar perfect are falling short. More and more companies have submitted articles which still need to be checked and double checked because the spelling and grammar makes them difficult to make sense of. Some even just article spin and submit nonsensical work.

Furthermore, for those in the telecommunication side of the business, the accents are deplorable. Not only can one or two words be understood in one sentence, but there is also difficulty in understanding what they are trying to say because of the poor quality of headset that they use.

Third difficulty is the time. The time zones are different, for Asia it is GMT+8 and this makes their mornings our evenings and this can get very frustrating trying to adjust to. Some of the outsourcing firms still insist on their own time zone which is not flexible on their part.

Fourth, cheap labor equates to poor quality. The problem with these offshore companies is that they have too many service providers under them and their quality control gets affected. Companies are known to reject work simply because the applicant (the boss) passes the tests but the work is completed by a subordinate who is not clear on the instructions and ends up submitting inadequate and poor quality work. Worse, the deadlines are missed and the company is left to shoulder the losses.

Take note that not all offshore service companies are bad, actually a lot are good. However, the however, as more and more people want to earn in US dollars, then they put up their service companies as if they are planting vegetables in their garden. Before hiring an offshore service, make sure that these are the recommended ones, even if they are more expensive than the rest.
