In today's world, technology is one of the major strategies used in competing. Server hosting is one aspect of technology that enables most businesses to advertise and reach out to more clients through the electronic media. Once you engage the services of a webhosting company you are provided with different domain registration options that are basically names for your business websites that can be used to reach out to customers and identify you. These names also enable your company to set up emails and web pages for your particular business. In order to get these web names, a certain amount of money is paid and after a certain period these names expire. When your domains expire and you fail to renew it your websites will be shut down and your emails as well. This means that you will not be able to access the pages registered in that particular name. Neither will you or your staff be able to access emails that have the root in that name. The renewal process of a host name will vary with each server hosting company. Some companies will often notify you way before the expiry date of your host name. This is supposed to act as a reminder for you to renew the registered names with the company's registrar. In some companies the renewal process can be allowed fifteen days before the actual expiry date. When registering a new host name one is given the option of automatic renewal or manual renewal. Under automatic renewal the client agrees to the service provider renewing the web host name and billing all costs to his credit card. On the other hand, manual renewal only allows the service provider to contact the client and notify him or her of the expiry date so that he or she can come and pay for the service and have the web host name renewed. Most service providers will still notify you of pending expiry dates way before your host name expires. This is regardless of whether your registered under the manual renewal or automatic renewal. Emails will also be sent you exactly one day after the actual expiry date. The redemption list will mean that your host name will be renewed at a higher fee. The additional fee is normally charged as a penalty for not renewing the host name on time. Once your host name is placed on redemption list your websites will start experiencing problems and access to your email may become impossible. During the entire period you are still sent notifications concerning your pending renewal. After the expiry date, most service providers will give the client a grace period during which they can pay their renewal fee and renew their host name. During this time the websites, pages and emails will work as usual. However, after a certain period of pending renewal, normally two to three weeks, the service provider will put your host name under the redemption list. This will compel you to pay the renewal fee plus a fine for delays. When the redemption period elapses without anyone renewing the domains under your name then your account will either be closed or be auctioned to another person. This will render it impossible for you to ever access this host name again. Additionally, your websites and emails will cease to function.
