Genuine BlackBerry parts are necessary for proper do-it-yourself repair projects. If you know what you're doing - and an internet search should suffice for most cases - then simply ensure the correct parts for your model of BlackBerry smart phone and follow all instructions. That's it! Just make sure of those BlackBerry parts, because "the whole is the sum of its parts," as the old adage goes; if you don't have the right screen or trackball, you don't really have a BlackBerry! Modern design principles tend towards minimalism, so there is no such thing as a redundant part. The right BlackBerry parts are important, even if it's just a battery cover - after all, don't you use your smart phone in conditions of wet weather? Sure there may be no reason to keep them but unfortunately accidents never take a break. They sit there watching until carelessness provokes an accident to happen or maybe just a mishap dying to attack. Better safe than sorry right? Of course, if you should be so unfortunate as to require a full complement of services for your BlackBerry, you can leave the parts to the professionals you will be hiring for the job. In certain cases it's the delicate electronics that are at fault, and no amount of swapping side rails or faceplates will help. Such situations call for the special tools and expertise of someone who repairs Blackberries for a living! If your device is still under warranty, of course you can simply let the manufacturer deal with the matter. Being Canadians, RIM (Research In Motion), the makers of the BlackBerry, should have generous consumer policies in place! Otherwise, there is any number of repair shops that can help. Although material and the phone itself can be replaced, its priceless data stored throughout the time being used cannot be replaced meaning everything that may be important which was stored can be extinct in seconds like the dinosaurs. Whatever the matter, know that a repaired phone is better than a tossed phone, better for our environment as well as your pocketbook! Repair is the way to go, and do-it-yourself repair is often easier than it might seem at first. For example, in spite of all the many different models out on the market today, repairing a BlackBerry device is often straightforward. They tend to follow the same general series of steps, especially at the outset, minimizing hassles for the DIYer, such as dealing with the typically four or so screws at the corners of the back cover. These need to be removed first, and are par for the course for most electronics devices. Note that though hex screws may used be used at times, depending on the model, a flat-head screwdriver should still be able to unscrew them. Four more screws await your attention after this preliminary step. They hold in place the speaker and battery housing. Undo these, too, and your 'Berry should be pretty much opened up!
