Your Guide to Modest Women's Clothing

When meeting someone or entering a party with a bunch of people you don't know, it's important to make a good impression. Here are some of the better ways to make sure everyone leaves the party talking about you.

1. Modesty: From a fashion perspective, it's important to wear something attractive, to enhance your natural beauty, but it's also important not to come across as risqué, trashy, or as if you were trying too hard. This is where modest fashion comes in. If you have an area of your body that you'd like to draw attention to, like your legs or your breasts, there's a way of doing so gracefully and with elegance. Let's say that you want to draw attention to your legs. Rather than wearing a high miniskirt, you can look for something that shows off your knees. This middle ground will leave people with enough to imagine, and will still allow you to feel sexy and confident. Add a pair of heels to lengthen the look of your legs. Don't wear a low cut shirt with a short skirt – it is overkill, and can make it seem like you're showing off.

2. Conversation: When you first meet someone, don't talk about yourself. Ask questions about them, and hopefully they will do the same. This will allow you to get to know each other. Adding reassuring verbal cues, like "Yes," and "Uh-huh" or "Go on," will be make people more willing to share with you.

3. Eye contact: Make solid eye contact, and don't look over the person's shoulder or at the scenery; it's distracting to them, and it makes it seem like you're bored.

4. Voice: Moderate the tone of your voice to be heard clearly. Choose your words carefully, as people will judge where you are from and how you were educated based on your dialect. Enunciate. Display emotion in your facial features and your voice, and act natural. Smile.

5. Their name: As Dale Carnegie once pointed out, "Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language." By saying it to yourself four times immediately, and repeating it frequently, they will become more prone to opening up and feeling comfortable.

6. Make the other person feel important: Sincerity and modesty are again important. You want to make the person feel like you are interested in their life, but practice reserve if necessary.

7. Avoid arguments: If you find yourself in one, respect the other's opinions. If you are wrong about something, admit it immediately. Try to see things from their point of view. Make your ideas clear and virtuous, by supporting them with values like courtesy, justice, and what is right.

8. Confidence: Feeling good about yourself is the best way to make other people feel good. If you seem uncomfortable, it is easy to mistakenly attribute that to something personal.

These tips are good to practice in any setting with new people. By acting interested, practicing modesty, and being confident, you will find that people will be naturally attracted to you.
