Port-a-Potties Head For The Top Of Skyscrapers Under Construction

It's a long way down from the top when you have to go. Construction workers for tall buildings spend all day on the job, often taking lunch at their high-altitude job site. Luckily, a portable restroom designed to meet the unique needs of these types of sites is now available.

The skyscraper model restroom is built of extra sturdy, steel-reinforced construction to handle transportation to the top of the building. It comes with a heavy-duty crane sling for secure lifting and commercial-grade casters for easy relocation once it is in place. Perfect for busy job sites, it can accommodate two users, providing complete privacy. Floor, wall and ceiling ventilation is maximized to avoid unpleasant odors, and the 45-gallon tank allows for longer usage between servicing.

Portable restroom rentals now come in all shapes and sizes. The standard blue plastic home construction site model doesn't always meet the demands of a difficult location, a large number of users or a more discriminating group. There are slightly upgraded models for more permanent placements such as a large warehouse, a recreational park or a school. These are similar in size to the standard model, but have thicker walls and better ventilation, and can include a flushing toilet and a sink with running water.

On the other end of the Port-a-Potty spectrum are luxury portable restrooms featuring hot and cold running water, heating and air conditioning, stereos, interior lighting, polished brass fixtures, marble walls and maple trim. These units are fully enclosed trailers with a hitch so they can be transported to any location.

The set-up location needs to be level and dry, with a water source of 40 psi and a dedicated 20-amp electrical hookup nearby. If there is no available water or electricity in the area, portable restroom trailer rentals are available as self-sufficient units with an onboard water supply, and can even be equipped with a generator.

Trailers are available in a variety of styles to suit small private events such as weddings, family reunions and company outings, or larger-scale events such as concerts and festivals. There are units that can accommodate 250 people and others appropriate for 1,200 people over a four-hour period of time. For an instant outdoor party, there are even units with men and women's lavatories, a wet bar, an awning and a full music and sound system. There are also mobile showers and VIP solar-powered units.

The outhouse has come a long way. From tacky blue plastic - still available for those so inclined - to skyscraper models supported in slings to luxurious trailers. What will they think of next?
